That guy really ought to be suing himself for getting himself addicted. It really is his choice as to how he spends his time regardless of Lineage or the company that made it.

I dunno. When people can win a case 'cause coffee is hot...
Not saying it isn't stupid, but I wouldn't be surprised if something comes of this. >.>

If this passes with the court I'm gonna wonder about the cigarette industry.
Cigarettes have warnings on the packet (at least here in Australia there is) and MMOs don't

Bieber boy posted that NCsoft gives ingame messages/health warnings.

Watch as this somehow results in every mmo having a warning label.

It is these sort of events that remind me there is no limit to stupidity. I'm amazed that the Courts actually allowed this tripe to carry on further, it should have been shot down right at the Lawyers' he pitched it to. But I guess money is money, you got to get it anyway you can, even if that means you have to cast aside any dignity, and claim no resposibiliy on yourself what-so-ever. It took just shy of a decade to realise he is a Social Outcast, incapable of performing even the most basic of taking care of oneself ?
C'mon, man. There HAS to be a line drawn at it being the products' fault, and yours.

Maple story gives a message every hour you play, and after three hours it suggests you take a break.
Though really, I've seen that message say "You've been playing for 1xx hours, we suggest you take a break from Mapling".
But at least it should cover them in this kinda scenario.

:spit:
I suppose that is something MMO games are going to have to do:
Slapping huge text across the screen (breaking any immersion) reminding the player "You Play [LONG TIME], You Go Now." I guess putting it in your chat box, near the top center of the screen, and/or even during Loading Screens--something MMOs are full of--just isn't enough to remind some that maybe a break would do them some good.

This case shouldn't even exist. There should be a definitive line between blaming a product for causing problems and blaming yourself for allowing those problems to manifest. So what if you lost most of your life playing a video game, big whoop. It's your fault for waisting your time playing that game, not the company.
Man, its BS like this that makes me so angry at people. This is complete, total, utter nonsense.

Well you never know, he might win. I once heard of a little kid that sued his father for grounding him... and the kid won.

You can sue anyone for anything as long as you pay the filing fee.
Question is, do you have a right to claim losses.
Of course this does waste the courts time.

Thats even dumber then this guy suing a gaming company for something he willingly participated it.
Civil trails can't enforce jail time, all he would be able to do is collect losses, and since he's underage. His parents get the money as his guardian.
