Downloading the 50th anniversary right now.
I wonder how epic this is going to be.

Am I the only one that doesn't watch Doctor Who?
I watched a few episodes when a friend gave me his Netflix account to see it but can't seem to find it online anywhere else.. :\

I loved it, thought it was a great episode. It has its cheesy moments but overall its fantastic.

Never cared for Doctor Who.
Time was my first exposure to it, but even then I didn't really know what it was. Then tumblr happened, which made me even more aware/uninterested in it.

Same although thanks to Tumblr, I'm starting to get the urge to watch it. Unfortunately I have no idea where to bloody begin. My coworkers seem to think that the show isn't that great and the only worthwhile bits is from the reboot but I'm not so sure if that's true :/

I've been watching the originals since I'm a little kid since my dad is a fan of it.
The 2005 reboot is designed so you don't need to have seen the earlier episodes from the 1963 - late 80's.
It is good to know what doctor who is and how it "works" though. You can either read up on it or watch a whole lot of episodes, there will be a gap most likely though since many episodes were lost by the BBC (original tapes were thrown out from their archive... retards).
The 2005 reboot is much more dramatic and faster paced though, so it's really a good starting point.

Okay I'll probably start with the 2005 reboot then. As long as that gives a good explanation of what happened in the retro period.
If not then I'll probably wiki it. I know the general concept of it from reading up on it on the wiki after I kept hearing about "The Tardis"

Haven't watched it either. Main reason being that whenever I hear someone mentioning the name, "Doctor Who" just sounds really dumb to me, so I was never interested to check what it's about. xd

Just watched it, and it certainly does not disappoint. I honestly thought Moffat couldn't wriggle his way out of a certain problem, but it seems he has.
