There is really no point of trying to dispute this argument if you are simply going to strip the case of cosplaying down to it's simplest form. Reality is you're dressing up as a pony from a show tailored towards 6 year old girls. It's stupid and thats all, and most of the world agrees.

To further prove my point, google image cosplay than google image brony. The difference is clear.

The show itself is fine, but large portions of the fanbase ruined its reputation.

Though, people who don't know how to differentiate between the decent fans and the shitty fans (or even the fans and the show itself) are equally daft. Not to mention the precious little special snowflakes who think they're oh so cool and edgy for hating on MLP.

Because it reminds me of power rangers and or sailor moon. At least the first two episodes. Each season start off big an epic battle, it was pretty cool. Rest of the season works much like shows like Arthur, I mean yeah it's childish but it's quality childish you know what I mean? It's got substance, not like Dora or other children shows that really has no plot in an episode.

But yah. i still see grown old men dressing as ponies or drawing them in a sexual way

Most people I know dislike bronies because they're bronies, not to be cool and edgy... How is disliking an annoying fanbase make you cool and edgy?

Well Bronies were all over the place at the time, not being part of the fan base could be considered not mainstream, and hipsters consider themselves cooler than those who follow a popular trend.

Although I am sure plenty of people just hate it because it's weird and whatnot and then got annoyed because ponies were bloody everywhere.

I don't know what they think, probably same as everyone else, I thought it was pretty weird when I first hear about MLP :/ I do know people who hate it because it's too mainstream though.
