I think your outfit/combination of colors look nice. I myself favor the simpler outfits/natural coloring over the flashy and overused ones.

I wouldn't recommend changing just because your friends don't like it, stick with whatever YOU enjoy.
But as a note, more items that I like are:

- Japanese Traditional Wear
- Yukata
- Apron/Del Dress
- Bolero and Jumper Skirt
- Two-Tone Bizot Dress
- Selina Lady Dress
etc;

Most of those are cheap to get, and go well with simple/natural colors.
