I'm guessing this will only be for very small parcels, but wow. This is super cool.
Drone delivery is actually a really cool idea, but I'm surprised anyone is even seriously considering it. Well, someone has to push boundaries I guess. I hope they find a way in the next decade to have them transport more massive loads.
I'm skeptical if they can implement this in North America though. Not a lot of people realize just how huge just the US alone is for the drones to cover even from the nearest center. I can see this being a huge success in a small and dense country like Japan though.

Read about this... you have to be within 10 miles of an amazon distribution center so they pretty much cut off 99% of people already. Hopefully they improve that aspect so anyone in any major city around the world can use it.
The other thing is a company already had tried this out with pizza delivery, it got shut down because of some regulation about drones. I wonder who amazon is paying off to let this happen?

You can extend the reach by building drone charging and routing network infrastructure. Laws regarding drone use can always be changed, that stuff is not set in stone.
I saw a TED talk recently about a similar technology, for use in developing nations as a form of critical supply delivery:

The most interesting part is how cheap it is to send a package, at only $0.24 to send a 2Kg package per 10 km.

Amazon should propose contract with Military to use predator drones to deliver merchandises around the globe. This is cool, we are getting closer and closer to the Jetsons.

Still need floating everythings.
I swear everything can float/hover/fly in that cartoon.

You're pretty much guaranteed jail time for interfering with the drones if they're allowed.
Also, Amazon charges huge for shipping unless if you pay over $35 ($25 on .ca but .ca sucks)
