I was wondering if r1 thunder fullcast can wipe out a wave of shadow cast mobs.
I am not concerned about the shadow ghost or the dopplegangers as I can finish them with meele weapons (I have mana preservation stones).
At r6 magic mastery and 200int, I will get 100% magic balance and Thunder at r1 is like 406 max dmg.
So if it is full charge 406*5=2030
After calculating defense/protection, I would hit bone fighters about 1430 dmg. But I think 5 charge would almost guarantee a crit. Even if that is not true, my meele capability could make sure I survive.
So what do you guys think? Can thunder r1 solo shadow cast city?

It should can. You can always do the 5 charge -> +1 additional charge if you are unsure.
I usually just solo it with Smash/WM (and sometimes use AR/Magnum)

e.e the thing is whenever I meele, I often find myself in deadly cuz of the wm.
and if I try to pet play to make sure I'm safe, the splash dmg from a lancer who just aggroed my pet kills me.
but the extra thunder cast sounds useful. Thanks.

Go for it.
Also, put some Pet Revival Kits in a pet and make it sit somewhere safe before you start casting.
That way in case you die, you can just get revived.

1. Perhaps I'm overlooking something but pre-G13 Thunder is capped at 500 max damage. Not to mention the incorrect formula. The final thunderbolt strikes dealing twice as much damage with five charges. Essentially, you would be looking at 500 x 6 to determine total damage. You should be able to finish any remaining mobs using a single charge of Thunder or a lightningbolt or two.
2. I agree with the pet revive kits. Make sure to call your pet over with the correct command, ie: Revive!
3. Utilize the lightning rod AI to grab free chaincast lightningbolt so you can finish off multiple enemies; saves time.

Ah, thank you for the replies guys. I think after I get my thunder r1, I am going to spam shadow cast city with it.
