The biggest offender is obviously Nitendo who so far is one of the only companies that feel the need to police their content. I mean seriously now? Why so paranoid Nitendo?
...What?
Nintendo moderates their services so their services can be family friendly used by everyone.
People don't want to see dick drawings on MiiVerse, and parents don't want their kids to either.
YouTube is doing this to avoid losing money from possible lawsuits from other companies. The two are very different.
They're consoles are the only ones that also make it a pain to record game footage on which is extremely annoying. .
No they're not. You must not know how to properly record gameplay footage then.
Nintendo consoles are straight forward when it comes to recording footage
I just hope people like angry joe and pewdiepie and cryaotic and ashens can keep doing the stuff they love, because I love watching these guys.
Ehh.Screw youtube..
If I hadn't watched Jesse's LP of Farcry 3
If I haven't saw a LP
I can actually say that like 50% of the channels I subscribed to were due to a Let's Play.
Let's Plays are main reason we have this. People uploading videos of them playing a game from start to finish, it's the video game equivalent of uploading a full movie/music album on YouTube.
You can try defending them and hating on YouTube all you want, but Let's Players are the main reason why have this in the first place.
And the "BUT IT'S FREE PUBLICITY!!!!" isn't a valid excuse.
...I wonder if Nintendo (and several other companies) would still be bothered at all if they released games on Steam...? I doubt they'd lose money that way.
Not going to happen.
At the cost of all the other ones... like sending a nuke to get rid of a house fly.
Not really.
Despite what people think YouTube isn't the bad guy here.
It's not uncommon for YouTubers to ask publishers/developers if they can upload videos of their games, in fact it's how people like NothernLion get games before the release date and due their first impression/reviews and even upload (their) gameplay footage.
So yeah, in a sense it is like "sending a nuke to get rid of a house fly", but only to the people who didn't ask permission and had no right to upload content that they weren't allowed too.
Plus, there are many other alternatives since YouTube isn't the only video uploading site. The people who dislike this so much can make their own website and upload their own videos there, ClassicGameRoom has already switched from YouTube to their own site.
