Well, you have to think about where the money comes from. Abortions are not free. If standard insurance covers it, that means everyone pays more for it, including those who would never use it. Therefore, insurance would be cheaper in the first place, compared to states where everyone has to pay for it.

Yeah, at first glance it sounds like something very politically incorrect, which is why everyone, including populist retards, can jump at it right away. I don't really like the sound of it either, but it was most likely done to prevent abuse of the system. Legitimate rape victims could probably demand that the perpetrator pays for it, although one must admit that not all rape crimes are prosecuted. But even in the worst case scenario, I would assume that given the low chance a woman has to get raped and get pregnant in her lifetime, the average woman would save money if she pays for the abortion out of pocket, compared to the lifetime cost of the inclusion of the abortion coverage.
