We are aware that some users are experiencing difficulty accessing Mabinogi following the 12/12/2013 maintenance due to errors with HackShield.

If you see an error relating to ehscv.dll or just want to get your hands on the most recent version, please follow the steps outlined below.

If you're using Windows:
- Download the latest version of HackShield here.
- Unzip the file. This is your new HackShield, time to add it to your game.
- Navigate to your Mabinogi folder in My Computer - C:NexonMabinogi
- Replace the HShield folder with the fresh one you unzipped, and overwrite the existing files.
If you're using Steam:
- Download the latest version of HackShield here.
- Unzip the file. This is your new HackShield, time to add it to your game through Steam.
- In Steam, navigate to Library, right-click Mabinogi, and select Properties
- Under the Local Files tab, select Browse Local Files
- Replace the HShield folder with the fresh one you unzipped, and overwrite the existing files.
- Done!

If this was supposed to fix the crashing issue, it's not working for me.

Isn't fixing my problems either.... I still get Hackshield error and a windows message saying client.exe stopped running...

It didn't fix the error for my desktop either. (Vista)
Not even getting the issue on my laptop (Win7), and it sounds like the error's mostly happening for Vista users.

On my pc it seemed that security programs such as Norman Security don't really like HShield. Try turning the antivirus off, and start the game. For me it worked, HShield wouldn't update properly, and now the game starts and everything works fine so far.
