Fomor weapons do suck. You can bash me all you want, but it's a fact majority of people agree with. You could say you can use fomor weapons for missions where you don't need reforged weapons or special upgraded weapons, but we all know beginner weapons are better for this.
As for combat skills, it's not neglected, it's just that it's strong enough already, and devCat is trying to pay attention to other classes, like mage, alchs, etc. There's abyssal dungeons coming out, I don't see how that's being "neglected". For TNN, it's meant as a location for mainstream quests, not much you can do to expand it really, nor is there a point to pay more attention to it.
And also, people singing in dunby is getting pretty annoying now.
What is a beginner weapon and how is it better? As someone who uses a fomor weapon or two, I'd love to find out a better way of approaching combat.
Currently, I'm liking the slightly higher base stats and basically free repairs since the char I use it on doesn't commerce and has plenty of ducats from bandit hunting.

Fomor weapons are only remotely useful if you want to use them as a weapon that you could give a zero shit about because you won't need to invest in things like efforts and special upgrades. To use these as your main weapon of a silly idea due their limited potential. If you're gonna use weapons for easy missions, might as well go with the weapon that takes the least amount of resource, aka beginner weapons, which are 1g to repair. Fomor weapons are not hard to repair, but it's a hassle to use these since you do need sugars to be keep running. Not tomention you could be getting much better things than these useless weapons.

The difference in damage from a beginner weapon to a fomor weapon is vast, though. And ducat repairs are crazy cheap, even at 98%. Even if you actually run commerce, it's less than a single run to pay for days of use. I can agree with limited potential, but, I also see a great deal of room where a beginner weapon isn't good enough but an expensive weapon is overkill.

I'm annoyed by the fact that Mabinogi seems to be trading game content for mindless character progression. Sure we can get stronger and stronger, but to what end? I would like to see field monsters that give high-leveled players a run for their money for once. Make travelling the map actually an adventure rather than a chore. Add say bosses that have to be taken down in special ways (certain parts of the monster can only be damaged by certain skillsets, etc.) These are just random thoughts off the top of my head.
We strut around like entitled, spoiled brats in Erinn, and it's time Devcat put us in our place.

When I do npc with randoms and they all either die or do no damage. If you don't do damage I expect you to at least be a viable meat shield for me to make use of. :smoke:

Renes Egg Protection was the first, but has been outgrown. Then Martial Arts Tourny and now Forest Purification.
Granted, they could do better, but since character progression is directly linked to their money makers, endgame content has an expiration date. Also, endgame content for top tier players is totally inaccessible for most of the playerbase, so it's not super worthwhile to invest a lot of time into it.
