Quote from Kenero;1180089:
After research condone by Shyllen Magic and how it stores the mana of others inside, the elves shared this knowledge with the Ailech Kingdom. With the newfound knowledge the Ailech built many moongates to ease travel while using crystallized shyllen that would gather particles of Eweca's mana at night and then experse the collected power during day. Allowing recharging at night and then expelling during the day.
After the elves and giants notice how they use the knowledge, they applied it with their own their mana tunnels.
The newly reconstructed moongates are nothing like the original moongates, which was made during Jak's failed method of bringing down the moon, but rather it is a large Shyllen Crystal that is an imitation of the original moongates, but works just as well.
That's a decent explanation for the event.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit overkill?
And I don't even think I've gotten all of them yet.

I found one not on the map in the OP. Northeast of the dragon dig site in gairech.

I'm glad we finally got dungeon gates back. I missed those.
Oh, and there's also some gates that aren't in the OP in Uladh as far as I can tell.

This seems like a good update for noobs, and shouldn't they rename all of tunnels to "Mana Tunnels" They can't be called Moongates anymore, they are open in the day.. Unless Eweca is always there o_o

The only overkill IMO is up in northern Zardine where you can literally have two Mana Tunnels onscreen at once. I chuckled at the instances where existing gates/tunnels got shifted a bit, too. Like Ceann's (where's that?) moving next to the dock and the same for rafting.
This update/addition does render wings almost completely worthless, too.

Take a pic of your map for a comparison. I want to get them all too. XD
Same for anyone who completed having all the mana tunnels in Iria.

Tir - 3
Dugald - 2
Dun - 3
Gairech - 4
Morva - 1
Ceann - 1
Sen Mag - 2
Emain - 4
Blago - 3
Tara - 4 (1 in Rath)
Taill - 7 (lol)
Neagh - 2
Cuilin - 2
Belvast - 2
Scathach - 5
Rano - 17
Connous - 16
Physis - 15
Courcle - 20
Zardine - 13
Think that's how many there are now. Most of them aren't even needed; I'd only consider the ones in the older Uladh maps where you can't fly, and snag at least one in Belvast for a free 'continent warp' there if non-VIP.

You oughta be reading through the very thread you're commenting in.. Kenero has already explained what you're asking here, before you even asked.
~On that note, thank you once again for the continued explanation. xD Little things like this really enhance the experience for me, ya know? A lot of games will go through and make small tweaks(though some may see this as much bigger) like this and not really give any reason why, but Mab always seems to explain the, at least more important things. Like guns' bullets being compressed mana.. that's what made me okay with the concept entering the game in the first place. xD [s]Scooters however were a dumb idea and I forever hate >:U[/s]

I still wanna know the source of this.. is it from a new in-game book or quest? It sounds pretty cool o_o
