Liberty Saber: Ego or Upgrade/Enchant?

  I have two Liberty Sabers and I would like to ask...
  Which will be stronger, upgrading (up to step 5) and enchanting both or [S]have a spirit in one (assuming level 25 or less) and have the other one upgraded and enchanted[/S]?

  Also, I'll eventually upgrade and enchant at least one of them and I'm unsure of which upgrade path to pick and the enchantments to get (never enchanted a weapon). In my head, I've got: Edern's K Sword Strengthening > BR 2 > BR 3 > BR 4 > BR 5. I'm a little wary of getting an Artisan Upgrade since I'm not certain if the NX cost of rerolling is worth the stats. About upgrade stones, I don't know much about those either but I'm thinking that the blue ones would be more effective, given the Liberty Saber's low base crit rate.

  • My mind is set on dual wielding Liberty Sabers, please don't try to convince me to use two-handed swords, different one-handed swords, and lances.
    
  • Why am I so stubborn about them? They look closer to Ninjato than Muramasas and Wakizashis.
    
  • Why not just have an ego bow over an ego LS? I understand their benefits but archery isn't one of my goals right now. If my mind does change, I can deal with the costs of spirit transfer, that's if I even decide to make an LS into a spirit weapon in the first place.
    
  • If I were to make an LS into a spirit weapon, I'll repair it with NX since I don't think they'll be released again anytime soon. Plus we gotta support DevCat somehow...
    
  • What's my in-game funding like? Enough. I'm asking these questions with a long term goal in mind.

  What turns me off from reforging is how random it is but since you brought it up, what would the approximate costs of reforging be and which reforges should be aimed for? Also, what would the approximate cost of a spirit weapon be, repairs not included, by the time 2/3 of its max stats are achieved.

  Reforging is, as you mentioned, completely random. The aprox cost cant be measured because it is wholy based on luck and how much of it you actually have (not the stat luck). You should aim for R1 and elemental level 3 on a 1-hander, however keep in mind 1-handers themselves seem to be incredibly difficult to reforge compared to other weapons. If you somehow manage to get a double ele 2 on r2 you should keep it, getting r1 itself is half the battle though. The 2nd best reforge to go for on 1-handers if you don't want to deal with the rare elemental is going for smash damage reforge or going for max attack power reforge. Keep in mind 1-handed weapons have half the potential of 2-handed weapons (i.e. 2-handed weapons can get level 20 reforges and level 6 elemental, however 1-handed weapons can only go as high as level 10 reforges and elemental 3 level), so if you come across something like a level 10 reforge that you are looking for keep it.
  
  Other than that, I personally don't know the costs of getting a good ego to a high level because i don't really bother with my ego. However after you hit around 25 or so (just guestimating) it starts getting exponentially more difficult to level your ego.
  
  For your original question, keep in mind liberty sabers are annoyingly expensive to repair, so if you intend to go with the enchant and upgrade path choose enchants that don't have repair multipliers and make sure you have alot of gold to upkeep it. For an ego, you would be required to repair it with an NX repair potion or to use a high proffed liberty saber as fodder for repair, I'm not sure on the current amount of liberty sabers on each server or how rare they are atm, but you might need to invest in NX repair costs instead of searching for liberty sabers to use as fodder.

  my estimate is around 50m+(alexina),in which you can already buy a good reforged weapon + other gears.

  The costs of repairs are not a big concerned with me as of yet since they came pre proffed and they won't be my main weapon set until I have progressed them through at least the NPC upgrades and possibly several spirit weapon levels. I'll invest more heavily in them when I feel like the content is too much for my pair of Tantos.

  Social 45+ will cost you at least 100,000,000 gold using NPC items over the course of 1~2 years.
  
  After investing that kind of time and effort into your weapon, you're not going to like watching people significantly out damage you using cheaply obtained 1 Rank Highlander Claymores and Knight Lances which took around a day of work.
  
  If you're truly dead set on hindering your character progression through an intricate construct of fictitious limitations you should side with the path which will ultimately cost you less.
  
  Don't make a spirit weapon. They're not worth it anymore.

  The Artisan Upgrade is not worth the investment. You would be re-rolling (spending gold/NX) both weapons for an extra two max damage (at best) while significantly reducing your luck.
  
  Spike, Stamp, and Cypress are all perfectly viable enchants in place of those listed.
  
  R-Type upgrades provide significantly improved average damage output over S-Type upgrades past a certain break point. You can ultimately hold over 110% critical without any equipment at all.

  Was about to say this, but OP seems pretty stubborn about using Liberty Saber. Just saying, it's not the best weapon as an ego or special ugpraded weapon.
