I have not been playing intensely until recently.
It seems there are new updates to the game.
Was there an update to the magic? How is it now?
Is it good for DPS as archery or in a pvp?
You can find all the changes here:

Firebolt cc4 with the new wand mastery equals/better than elf mag dps. Its so much easier to hit endgame with magic than archery. It almost isn't worth it to pursue archery. Also firebolt doesn't miss. Magic is also more versatile with the addition of snap casting and moonwalking. Also Magic Damage's formula has been revised into: (Max Base Damage + (Skill Factor * Magic Attack)) * (1+[Bolt Mastery + Magic Weapon Mastery + Element Mastery + Title bonus]) * Charge Multiplier.
And skill coefficients got changed.
(taken off the same wiki page above)
That wand repair and durability loss is a problem for some, but you pretty much can make 100k depending on the sm your doing per run so that problem disappears. Oh and mana potions.

Anyways this should be in questions
Happy holidays!
I'm sorry, I'm gonna have to disagree with this statement.
Yes, magic got revamped, but to say that firebolt cc4 with updates is equal/better than elf mag is false.
Firebolt hits its limit much earlier than elf mag would. To say that it almost isn't worth it to pursue archery is also false. Magic and archery have different uses for different situations, and archery is more than fine where it's at. And the dex that you get from range is more than useful for puppets, not to mention the sniper title.
Only thing that is about as strong as magnum from magic is firebolt. And elf mag will still outdamage it by a good margin at the end.
I'm not saying firebolt's bad, it's great. But magic is NOT better than range. Magic has been merely balanced to the point it's actually useful now, compared to how range was already useful.
To the OP, I know you've been wondering around about your character development or what not, but what I suggest is that you continute on with what you've been working on previously. If you were already mage, go ahead, but if you weren't, I suggest you finish whatever you were doing.
