I was supposed to be getting a package today, I've been looking forward to it for days.
So my buzzer doesn't work because it has to be linked to a home phone that has a home phone plan. My mom thinks paying for a phone isn't necessary, but paying $70 for cable and watch basic channels is reasonable. Nobody even watches TV, my sister and I watch Netflix.
So I just leave a note for the UPS worker to call my cellphone which I provided on the note when he/she arrives.
I noticed the package didn't arrive at the time it was supposed to so then I started going downstairs every 30 minutes to see if they left the package.
3 hours after the package was supposed to arrive I notice a note saying that said they weren't allowed to do that which I found odd since I've been doing this for about a year, but somehow it would of been perfectly fine to tell them to leave my package on the floor.
So then I go the UPS customer center in Watertown which is about a 20 minute walk and as soon as I get there it closes and since it was nearby I decided to just rather pick it up along with my numerous other packages I will be receiving there than wait the whole day on monday.
You'd think that'd be simple right? No apparently you need to make two accounts on the UPS site, the second account refused to believed I lived where I did and gave up after an hour with the help of a chat assistant.
So then I found out that I'd need to bring an ID which is something that I don't have. I think it's idiotic. What are the chances of someone knowing that I requested a pickup, knowing my address, and my tracking number?
So now I have to sit outside on monday probably for hours to wait for a package.

How odd. I've picked up packages that UPS misdirected, and they didn't give me any fuss at all.
UPS is in hot water already because thousands of holiday packages are behind schedule, with some not expected to arrive till new years despite promised delivery by christmas.
All I had to do was bring them the tracking number and the invoice for the item contained within and they handed me the thing- which was a replacement battery for my laptop that was at the post office because of a mail routing problem.

You not having an ID isn't UPS' problem. Are you an illegal immigrant or something? Just get yourself an ID; it's a useful thing to have in any case.
The only issue I've had with UPS is that they treat packages roughly. Filing for damage claims and the delays that this leads to is an unnecessary pain in the ass.

Well the website said that they require IDs for pickups.
UPS has already messed up two of my Christmas orders. The first I understand due to it being before Christmas, but the second I don't understand at all.

Yesterday it said I was supposed to get my jeans on Monday along with DQ8, but somehow it was changed to Friday despite it already being 20 minutes away. The original date was the 23rd.

I don't see the use of an ID since I use my passport for everything, which UPS doesn't allow as a substitute.
Also have you seen the ups truck that was pushing an oven on the highway from the front? It's great

Because they are not allowed to, the USPS has deals with FedEx only.
UPS sucks dick, i prefer fedex anyway (or USPS since they put it in a malbox or leave it in a safe location)

UPS delivers reliably to where I work.
Fedex and USPS I have to go fetch it from the post office, the mail routes are bugged and no trucks visit where I work.
I've gotten far better results out of UPS than anyone else, but your mileage may vary depending on region.
Also if it is UPS, then you need to go to the UPS terminal not the post office.

I used to ship the reptiles I bred to their owners who live all around the US
The first time I used UPS they charged double what fed ex charges to slap FRAGILE LIVE ANIMAL on the box and to keep it in a temperature controlled environment. The snake arrived dead, I had to refund the buyers $500 plus shipping cost
Fed ex is the best man I've never had a problem with them

Must be a Wisconsin thing then, because UPS just hates us here, and it would explain a lot if Walmart normally uses UPS.
