Snow Day

  Happy New Year!*
  
  After the first night of winter storm Hercules much of the Northeast is experiencing a "snow day" from work and school!
  
  
  I grew up in NYC and New Jersey and spent many days with my nose pressed up against my window praying for Nor'easters (so that I could stay home and play video games). Running back and forth between the window and the Weather Channel, I witnessed the blizzards of '94 and '96 which delivered bonus one week and two week vacations, respectively.*
  
  
  Feeling a bit nostalgic, I thought I could try to share that same feeling with our players in and outside the Northeastern United States.*
  
  
  Beginning today, January 3 and running to January 5, we will be hosting a 2x AP event for Mabinogi starting 12PM PST in celebration of the Snow Day.*
  
  
  In celebration of over 12 inches of snow in Boston overnight, players can look forward to a wintery surprise.*

  The funny thing though - The 2x AP starts at the exact time as we go down for unscheduled maintenance.
  You'd think he'd have phrased it better so it doesn't imply we're immediately losing an hour of it.

  It doesn't really matter to me as I can't enjoy it until I get home around 6pm EST so as long as it's up and running by then I lose nothing here.
  
  After all, it may be a snow day for the kids but us adults still have to work (unless you work at the school or somehow can't make it to work which isn't the case for Rochester).

  Probably intentional, since if they gave too much notice the server load would probably make everyone miserable.

  man i'm old. maybe as old as the CEO....i was in elementary school in 94 and 96. i remember stil going to school, but we were without power for a week. worst week ever.

  Somehow I always miss these AP events when I need them the most.. I already levelled quite a bit through my rebirth. I wish I had waited a day to rebirth...
