  To say racism roots from religion isn't really a good way of putting it. There at many causes of racism ( or that's what it seems like to me). I think the easiest way of putting racism is "you And I are of different backgrounds. You are a mystery to me. You may or may not be a danger to my life." After all, humans are generally afraid of what they don't know. Some people take it to the next level and act on racism, and that is discrimination. I also believe that, to a certain extent, racism is somewhat indirectly natural, and will be around as long as people want to distinguish between different cultures and take pride in their own. I doubt the bible or Torah has a line saying something like "all Asian or black or Latino men and women are evil."

  The bible doesn't really state that certain races are evil, but inferior to others by condoning slavery.
  Though I believe that if you've never seen a white/black man before you would be afraid but it's whether or not you will be violent or outcast them or not really depends on the culture you are a part of. Peaceful tribes were reported to welcome white families into their villages and offer them food. While violent tribes would attack them.
  
  
  Present day, I read a study by a Harvard professor that most white children end up slightly racist by the age of six because they are taught it directly or indirectly by their parents, while children if color tend to not even notice the difference or something along those lines, I should read it again when I get the chance.

  That's not very racist, when children learn to make connections they ask a lot of questions
  If you're a white child you've probably observed your skin darkening when it gets dirty, so seeing a brown person for the first time it is actually a reasonable assumption (for a child)

  I found the way the message was transported rather militant. Though I suppose there are reasons for individuals to become so militant about these issues depending on their experience. I doubt that this is the appropriate way to handle the issue in public, though I live in a different society where sexism has been pretty much reduced to "inequal wages" and "too little top positions". Well, and whining about men making bawdy comments to close female friends when drunk, turning it into a political scandal and THE "sexism problem in Germany".
