Dumb question, I know.
Every time I make a choice, I end up getting something a little bit shittier than what I previously tried to get away from.
Be it jobs, or just stuff in general, each time I try to make my life a bit better, I get knocked down a peg and I have to live with whatever I get as a punishment as a huge "fuck you" for bothering. There are times where I feel so much anxiety, it feels like I'm being dragged away to the electric chair or something, because things just keep getting worse when I try to make my life better for myself.
It's a real drag for the most part, how do I stay positive when I'm so bad at trying to make things better? :fail3:

Well from a logical approach, realize this: You will gain absolutely nothing from being negative, but will get stuff from being positive.
Second, realize the benefits from any given situation that may seem bad (though this isn't always easy, nor will it always work).
Yes, it may be difficult, but your quality of life will improve greatly.
Good luck! :3

My mother raised me with a mentality to, when things seem tough, think of worse scenarios until I start laughing from them. But I'm cynical, so I can do that. Try and see if you can make jokes about anything around you! If you can't learn to laugh at your own flops, then you'll have a pretty sucky life!
If you have nothing to laugh at, then make something to laugh at. :>

Life is going to beat you down and drag you through some pretty bullshit stuff, that's life.
Don't let the little things get at you.
There's no reason to feel negative and shitty after something bad happens. The only thing you can do is learn and grow from it.
It may seem like that your actions result in life getting shittier, but take a step back and think about it. Think about all the things that you do have, the things that are going right.
All these negatives are overshadowing the positives.

It's just that, I try to think of every scenario, and the best choice to make in the long run. However, I always get something shittier than what I wanted or expected. It really isn't until I'm on the verge of having a panic attack from a hopeless situation does something seemingly good happen.

You're over analysing everything. When you do that, you're only setting yourself up to get hurt.
It's all in your head - this is something I've recently learnt myself, and something that you need to understand in order to stay positive and happy.

I can really relate to you op.. I'm still dealing with ex girlfriend caused trauma months after. How I deal is just keeping 100 percent occupied. College classes really help get your mind off things.

I've been doing this and also made it my new years resolution..
You absolutely need to keep your mind occupied and stay busy. Things may not be going your way now, though that doesn't mean you still can't have some fun and be happy.
When you are feeling anxiety, call someone up. Go talk to some random people. Watch anime, dance, play video games, do homework, study, go see a movie or just plain out treat yourself. Anything over just bathing in the depressing thoughts. Most important, never give up anything. goodluck to you op

Yup! It's a mentality alright, and a mentality that's very useful.
Just make sure to put in plenty of effort, Frog, 'cause you need to develop the habit.

I feel more guilty and useless about things when I think about it more. I try not to linger on negative thoughts because it'll just cause me more trouble.
When I feel like I've messed up really big, I panic a lot, ignore it, panic some more after, then move on because I won't be able to fix it.
Instead you can try, and you really have to try hard, to be optimistic, or at best look for a better solution to help you move on.
Take a breather, watch some cartoons read some manga, then come back to the problem when your calmed.
and if all else fails, at least know that you put forth some effort to help the situation, and go on living some more
sometimes it's ok to be selfish and put some time off for yourself
