Same, worked at a pharmacy (which means a bunch of grumpy old and sick people) as cashier all throughout highschool and never dealt with people like this. I feel like these stories are made up but then again some people are really really stupid so they might be real.

Maybe I have too much faith in our society.

Why you would feel entitled to call the manager if a gastronomical business doesn't have or know about the exact thing you want is beyond me. Next time when I'm dining in a Michelin-starred business I'll make sure to complain that even such a high-quality business doesn't have plain coconut milk, I mean jeez.

In Germany we have some shitty ass overpriced snakesoil water that is supposed to give you more oxygen by drinking because there's a slightly higher than normal oxygen-content - at the time of production, that is. Obviously O2 is primarily resorbed in the intestinal tract, and obviously having like 0.3% instead of 0.2% oxygen in a liter of water is really going to help you stay fit during running. That is one of the scams where I don't feel sorry for the victims.
