Lance Balance

  Hey guys, just a question. For some reason, I do not seem to achieve 80% balance with my lance as dictated by the picture below. I know about the balance revamp to a certain extent, but I am still confused as to why I do not have capped balance. The lance I am currently using has 17% balance if that helps in determining the solution to my problem. Thanks for reading ^^

  Balance obtained from Dex is capped at 50%. Other than Dex of course you can get balance from the weapon being used and Combat Mastery. So assuming you get 50 Balance as a result from Dex and Combat Mastery, that's 65 Balance that everyone can have while using a 0 Balance weapon. Since you have like 7xx Dex, you should have reached the 50 Balance cap from Dex. I assume you have Rank 1 Combat Mastery so that's 65 Balance total. Now adding the 17 Balance from your lance, that's 82 Balance but of course Balance is capped at 80. The only explanation I have for that is maybe you're using Enchants that decreases Balance?

  If that's done correctly, 8 * log2(778) subtracted by 31.8 = 45.03% Add 15 (combat mastery bonus) and 17 (lance balance) to that, and you get 77%, which seems close enough. This just means you're getting 45 balance from your dex. If you want that full 80 balance, if I did this correctly, you should be looking at 1024 dex.
  The new logarithmic formula makes it so that as your dex increases, the rate at which your balance increases gets lower.
  In short, you still don't have enough dex. Might wanna have some sort of suffix on your gloves that increase balance like elegant, swarming.

  Thanks for your concise and informing answers. I agree with you on your last sentence ironwoman. I actually have a wooden needle elegant WPC, but I'm reluctant to use it when I have my bow in my auxiliary equipment slot because of the decrease in dex.

  Heavy Armor Mastery reduces Dex, not Balance directly. Ironwoman already answered the OP in an efficient manner.

  It's still 6+ max for bows, I'd just use it if I were you.
