But here's the thing, what morality really is, isn't what's right, morality is what's efficient for society. Selfish actions are discouraged because they create inefficiency in society, and because of the nature of morality, what's moral is in fact what you should do in order to get along with people. Now I am not saying you shouldn't have your own beliefs of what's right, but it's really better just keep it to yourself. Social interaction is vital in today's society because true independence no longer exist, and how well you get along with people can very well determine how successful you are in life.
This is what I believe most people ignore about the importance of school, school is the training ground for your interpersonal relationship skill, you learn how to act in different situations.

now your point about morality is not necessarily true. im talking about morality as it is currently accepted in the fields of psychology and sociology. also, my actions are not selfish, and in a already well functioning society, would not be inefficient or cause disruption. i acted against a rule that i feel is a hindrance to the advancement of our society. that is actually the basic idea underlying post-conventional morality. http://faculty.plts.edu/gpence/html/kohlberg.htm here's a good link for what im talking about. and though it is not the only theory, it is the most widely known and accepted theory. and i believe it makes fine sense. do with this what you will.[/SIZE][/FONT]

If the case is as you said, then the problem is the power paradigm. Three basic approaches to conflict resolution: interest, right, power. From what you said so far, it seems you were just strong armed by administration. Right now the only solutions to this kind of situation is to either gather more power yourself to bring opposition back to the negotiation table using power, or just knuckle under. Popular power gathering method include strike, non-violence protest, or violence opposition.
Most of the cases, fighting back at people with power is a hassle imo so do what you will. I wouldn't advise you to take too drastic a measure unless you have a very concrete case.
