Today, 3 judges sided with Verizon and struck down net neutrality. Starting right now, your Internet service provider can censor, throttle, and block content however they want, while corporate websites that can pay more will be blazing fast.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

The big telecom corporations are currently pushing for an ISP model like the American one in the EU. Granted, they need to make quite a bit more money to make replacing the old copper with newer technology less than neckbreaking, but I'm worried at what else it may bring. Because I'm 100% sure they won't stop there.

I was going to mention it as someone did mention it to me earlier today but didn't feel like it as I was busy with work. The FCC really needs to step up and re-regulate ISP's. This is pretty much all the FCC's fault for not regulating the internet providers and essentially deregulating it in 2005.
Create some strong firm rules, and treat ISP's as a utility and this entire problem will be solved as the FCC does have the power to do this, the head of the FCC/Obama is just too afraid politically to actually properly make the rules to regulate it.
Also I wouldn't say it's a fire of greed. ISP's knew that the FCC rules on this were built on a stack of sticks that could easily be toppled over, they just needed to actually go through and challenge it.
