Initially I use the default downloader to download the game, but I accidentally deleted it, not realizing patching had an error because it was in the wrong directory.
I did the direct download (download the actual MabinogiSetup177R.exe) and finished it, opened it up and it was extracting in the background and finished. Then it opens up the patching screen that has the latest news and such and the Game Start button is available. I click on it, Hackshield loads, but then it says an Error occurred and crashes. How do I fix this?
3 things of possible important note: When I go to the main Mabinogi website, logged in, and click Play, it directs me to download even though I have already downloaded. Mabinogi is currently in C:\Nexon\Mabinogi directory, is that right?
I think others recently in the Ferghus' Repair Shop is having similar errors with login, Hackshield, etc.
edit: Tried restarting computer with only the basic programs up and start Mabinogi again. It failed again. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I didn't use msconfig like some others suggested, since I don't know which programs are essential to keeping the computer functional. Am I doing something wrong?
edit 2: Fixed it. I went to Computer, right click properties, System Protection, Advanced tab, Performance settings, Data Execution Prevention, and omitted everything from the Mabinogi folder.
