I kind of regret using my first talent on the Smith talent, getting me the smithing skills but not more important skills... anyways, originally I planned to be archer/magic elf, but then I thought about Alchemy and Marionette.
Because characters have 2 weapon tabs and it'd cost too much ap and stat division for 3, I'll settle for probably a hybrid of 2 builds. My problem is weighing pros and cons (as far as I know of).
Archer - dext. Most common for Elves, but I don't find archery as fun as magical things.
Magic - int. Elves is good at it too, but heavy ap cost. Can be anti-beginner.
Marionette - dext/str. Elves are bad with str, and seems to be very anti-beginner.
Alchemy - not stat dependent (except maybe will/luck). Also ap-heavy.
I kind of want Marionette the most (love anything summon related), yet it may perform less well due to less str. I guess Alchemy can hybridize with either Marionette, Magic, or Alchemy, freeing the need to depend on 2 stats. Should I drop Archery for Magic-Alchemy? Or go Marionette-Alchemy? Maybe Archery-Alchemy?
From what I've read, Marionette is apparently very bad for beginners, so perhaps I should stay away until I've played for much, much longer? If I do go Marionette, should I start a human with the talent? If Marionette is no-go and I stay Elf, Magic-Alchemy may be hard due to insane ap costs.
P.S. If I don't go either Archer or Marionette, does that mean I can just forget about raising dext and Refining? I guess it's good for success on life skills, but it wouldn't be a priority, right?
P.S.S. If I end the Daily Rebirth level caps on 1 character, does that apply for all characters on the account?
Thank you.

Well magic is a pretty easy talent to pick up now, buuut at the same time crisis+flamebust (puppet+alchemy) is pretty awesome. Although do beware you need some decent dex+str for puppet and it's uses ALOT of AP and alchemy is even worse in that regard, you spend about 4k AP total on alchemy. For magic try getting fire mastery, firebolt, magic weapon mastery, and bolt mastery up. That should give you enough firepower to hold your own in alot of situations, after that try to branch out into different magic types.
Ultimately its up to you, if you really want to do puppet go for it, but it won't be that great not to mention you'll need alot of AP to rank it up, same with alchemy. Don't go range unless you enjoy grinding an insane amount for more dex, if you like life skills do range. If you don't like life skills don't do range.

Hmm, so I think I've decided on at least Magic for now, possibly Alchemy as supplement in the future. But a question: Is Blacksmith worth to raise then just for its int? Because that means I raise both Refining and that. If it's not worth it, then I probably won't.
Also, I realized that Composing and other Music based skills give int. Think it's worth it to try ranking up those and using them as my supplements to battle instead of alchemy?

The blacksmith skill by itself is more for endgame dex where you've done all the other dex life skills and have nothing left (blacksmith is incredibly costly to train). The blacksmith talent, on the other hand, is very easy to raise (I believe it's possible to be a Master Blacksmith by having all the relevant skills at r1 except blacksmithing itself, it still needs to be ranked, but nowhere near rank 1). The talent does not give int, only dex and stam, while the blacksmithing skill gives 21 int for a massive price. There are certainly easier/cheaper ways to train up int.
For easy int, bolt spells are a good start for any mage, as well as a few ranks for composing and musical knowledge. I would recommend raising bolt related skills since int. magics can be expensive to get. A bolt powered up by all its relevant masteries can hit very hard, especially if it's lightning bolt spam, cc firebolt spam, or ice-fire fusion that crits several times.
On a side note, having high mana powers up your water cannon.

Magic can be very powerful to a new player especially for a new elf because of the access to hide. Due to all the AP Nexon throws at new characters you can easily rank
Firebolt at 109-148 AP depending upon race.
Fire Mastery at 156 AP
Magic Weapon Mastery at 152 AP
Magic Mastery at 91 AP
Mana Shield at 146 AP
Bolt Mastery 124 AP
A new character can level up to 300 for free so if you take advantage of it and rebirth at level 299 You can get around 399 ap just from leveling not counting any exploration that you may have done. You also get 74 ap from g1, 40 ap from g3, 80 ap from g17, and 280 ap from saga. So a new character will end up with around 800 ap. All those skills combined takes 687-728 ap depending upon race. With a CC4 wand you will be able to hit around 2-4k with a fire bolt and you have mana shield as well so you will be able to take hits if needed. The only downfall will be the lack of aoe and mana pots can get expensive.
Also if your an elf you will not have to worry at baol infiltration because of the access to hide.
