ya sorry if you're gonna waste your life dwelling over the loss of an animal you shouldn't buy a pet js.
Following that logic, you shouldn't bother befriending anyone ever. After all, you're just going to waste your life dwelling over them when they inevitably leave or die, right?
The amount of stupidity in this thread is mind-blowing.

Pets don't last very long, 10~15 years at most, as opposed to a friend, who's sudden and untimely death is way more tragic. When you get a pet, you're accepting the fact that it WILL die in your life time. Something you have to be prepared for as a pet owner to begin with, along with your other responsibilities. If you can't handle the death of an animal, as I said, you shouldn't buy one.

Jesus Christ, what's wrong with you guys?
Is it really that hard to apologize if you unintentionally offended someone? Why do you people have to make a big deal out of it?

First of all, you might not consider pets a friends but other people do. Some people even consider pets their best friends even though they have human friends.
Second of all, the point your trying to make is a terrible one. Cynic's point still stands, you're still being hypocritical by saying people shouldn't get close too attached to pets, so by your logic you shouldn't get attached to anyone older than you because they're going to die sooner than you will.
Any death is tragic not just humans, you really shouldn't be calling people idiots.

"Pets are not people"-response in 3... 2... 1...

let me get this straight
you think pets are worthless and have no meaning
you try to force this on others who think the opposite of you
wow

you're being ignorant lol. i never said not to be attached to pets, as i said over and over again, a pet's death is something you have to be mentally prepared for to begin with, as its your job to take care of it until it dies, and if you can't handle it, i repeat, DO. NOT. BUY. A. PET.
oh, and as someone who owns/loves pets i find it offensive that you're trying to shove words down my mouth and say i think pets are worthless.

I would say stay on topic but I'm not sure there really is a topic here to stick to. Rather, let's stop insulting one another. Consider this the only warning I'll give here, bullying and the like will not be tolerated.

He wouldn't have put these words in your moth if you hadn't acted in such a way as to unwittingly very heavily imply such a stance. Perfectly normal deductive reasoning.
And still it's beside the point. The point is that you have been personally attacking a griefing person just for the fact that he wasn't prepared and predictably overreacted. It's a weakness, we all get it. No reason to flip off absolutely everyone else in return. Obviously you are not prepared for criticism of what you hold dear (America) for whatever trivial emotional reasons. Do you notice a similarity? Are you enough of a quick thinker?
If you were as quick a thinker as you want us to be, you would've realised that your behaviour would not go down well with members of a social species given the peculiar circumstances and would've kept it to yourself.
A lot to learn you have, young padawan.
Also, ^ last words on this topic.

deductive reasoning my ass, they jumped to an emotional conclusion because they were angry. no logic was involved.
and actually, you never made those points to begin with. if you wanted to argue about what an awful person i am, you should have, rather than make the poor argument you did above.
oh, and again, you are putting words in my mouth. i merely questioned how appropriate his outburst about Americans&the op was, I was not being emotional, wtf.
on a side note, what i did has no correlation with me being a quick thinker. you're trying to sound smart, i get it, but insulting my ability to think because of something completely unrelated is a poorly written argument.
=) ta-ta.

The person who's throwing insults is calling me ignorant? Wow.
While some people can, not everyone is prepared to handle losing someone close.
Take into consideration how everyone is different rather than disagreeing and insulting everyone who don't support your views.

I did nothing, the way you presented your beliefs did.

i acknowledge the fact that not everyone can handle losing someone close.
that is why i suggest not buying a pet.

At this point I find it funny that you guys are doing this much arguing over a silly outburst in a non serious section of the forums. If I lost Chen, would I be upset? Yes. Would I get over it? Yes.
So really all this childish arguing back and forth over an outburst is absolutely ridiculous.
I still think this country is crappy btw but mostly cause of the shit government we have and politicians who can't get their act together as well as all the stuck up catholics/christians in this country who think they know better and are saying rape is okay that homosexuality is bad.
