These are regulations to make sure images we use are high quality and sharable.

  • (!) All images must be png, never jpg or any variation of jpg.

    • Jpg reduces quality of images, it is the absolutely worst option I can think of. NEVER save as jpg, no excuses.
    • The only exception to this rule is if there is the need for an image to be animated, then gif is acceptable.

      • Preferably, the gif should be made with a recording tool that only records differences in the image, not each frame at a time. This has been a long existing feature of gifs but most recording tools still don't use it. This would make the image much smaller and easier to upload. A tool that does use this would be GifCam.
      • If the image is large, minus.com/ can be used to upload large gifs with a very high cap on image size.

  • The name tag, party ad tag, and window tag should be off at all times, with a few exceptions.

    • Name tags and party tags may only be used when what you need to take a picture of is a title or something relevant like that.
    • Window may be open to take a screenshot of new interfaces, inv icons, descriptions, etc.

    • The party tag only needs to be off if anyone on screen has a party up, otherwise don't include it because it creates a "blank is hidden" text in the top right of the screen.

  • Images of inv icons and such should be put in their respective threads and given to a graphic person (like myself) who can crop out the inv but keep only the icon.
  • As previously said, all nonessential windows should be off. The less, the better.
  • If possible, post incomplete images non-cropped in the test thread and let the team decide how to crop it, and let the graphic person do that. This isn't exactly mandatory, and not really an option for gif files.
  • There should be as few players as possible within the picture, unless multiple players or a specific number of players is necessary for display.
  • If you are showing text in an image, your font should not be modded. (Unlikely you'll ever need text since this is korean anyways.)

    • If you use font mods, temporarily disable the mod in order to take the screenshot, or give access to the item or feature to another player without a font mod to take it.

  • (!) Game Options:

    • Outline option should be off at all times unless the image would be hard to distinguish without them.
    • Glow effect should be off, absolutely mandatory for the quality of the image. (This is usually on by default, turn it off.)
    • Shadow effects should be on but can be off.
    • Water reflection should be on but can be off.
    • Brightness should be set at exactly (0.50), the game's default.
    • Film Style Post Shader should be off at all times.
    • Foot prints should be off but can be on.
    • Any blurring, Anti Aliasing, etc should be off at all times.
    • If the image is of a player's name, talent titles should be on.
    • Auto Adjust Font Size should be on but can be off.
    • Quest Info should never be hidden.

  • Showing off features that can be moved around:

    • Lighting is important, the best lighting in the game regardless of time of day is in the main hall of the Dunbarton Library (not inside the school or library, in the main hall).
    • Standing in front of the door in the main hall of the library will provide a black backdrop that could be used to show off item appearances.
    • Black and white distort textures, it is preferable but not mandatory that an item not by dyed black or white if it is the subject of the picture.

      • If the item is black or white by default, it would be preferred to have a version of the image with the original colors and without).

    • Original/undyed versions of the items are preferred.
    • PMG Viewer images of things are acceptable, not better nor worse than ingame images unless in special foreseeable scenarios.
    • If the picture is showing off an item, that item needs to be the only item being worn. If it is a nonequip item, it should be the only thing in the picture after it is cropped by a graphic person.
    • If you are showing off a suit with stockings, do not wear shoes. If you are showing off a shoe, do not wear a suit with stockings. Although, it would be preferable you only wear the item you are showing off.
    • If your hair gets in the way of showing off an item, give it to another player to screenshot. If not possible, if the item is not a hat, wear a hat that covers up most of your hair so it doesn't interfere the with other equipment's model.
    • It would be preferred the image is as zoomed in as possible until right before the point it starts to run the quality of the subject's size.

      • Mods that increase zoom range is acceptable.

  • For Graphic People:

    • If possible, any players should be cropped completely out of the image, unless the players are necessary for display.
