Hi friends. My mom asked me to look around and see if there are any good reliable programs that will do her taxes for her and not charge her 600 dollars.

TurboTax and H&R Block are really good.
I used H&R Block and they only charged me like maybe $20.
It can be done online too. It only gets expensive when you try and get the help of a "tax specialist" H&R Block offered that to me for like $60.
Issue though is that my taxes right now is really simple.

How simple we talking? My mom has her own business and she owns the house. :U

How about this then:
http://www.hrblock.com/online-tax-filing/deluxe-online-tax-filing/
Might be a bit pricer than that though consider that TurboTax:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/small-business-taxes/
is charging like $160 - $150 for it.

Everyone I know uses TaxAct. And everyone I know is poor. Therefore I assume TaxAct is cheap.

Website says free federal taxes filing. Guess it's worth looking into.

Yeah. They only charge for the State taxes. I think when I did mine a few years ago it was like, $30?

Doing it yourself is actually quite easy. They even tell you exactly what you need to do. But between all the diff programs out there, I'll go with H&R block.

If you own your own business, it might be better to pay someone who knows their stuff and has professional expensive software than doing it yourself (says my mom who has her own business)

Taking accounting as my major. Once you study it the whole process is actually very simple.

I file my taxes through Tax Slayer. Turbo Tax is pretty much the same thing.
I would still file my own taxes if I owned a business. If you're going to be in the game for a while you might as well educate yourself on a pivotal aspect of entrepreneurship.
