I wouldn't say you're ready for gunslinger at all.
You're still missing big chunk of strength, gunslinger is the skillset you get into when you have 1200 str and int combined, at least that's how I view it.
If you want to make your highlander claymore better, you'd first have to enchant the sword and reroll the artisan. Then comes the reforge, ideally you'd want an elemental reforge.
It'd also be nice to post your whole gear, since that does take a significant role in your damage output in general.

All of this is skills and gear what might i need to do o-o

First, focus on only one skillset. Don't work on magic and melee at the same time, it's better to be dealing damage in one set than not doing as much in two.
Second, your gears need tweak. Your helment needs a prefix, preferably oblivion. Heavy armor isn't recommended because it will limit you to only few skillsets. That being said, try to get a special ambush clothing. For shoes, get oblivion viscount instead. Elegant is much better used on gloves than shoes. For gloves, get expansive for prefix, elegant for suffix. Also, get accs (stout EQ is probably the most cost efficient) to raise your damage up.
Third, life skills. No matter what class you are, you will need to do life skills.

Cuts 60% of ur dex. Makes range and puppetry thrown out the window, and reduces the balance for other skillsets. Forces you to go with balance enchants if you dont already have extremely high dex and thats not very good if u want end game equips.

Depends, if you go archery then bohemian set (which is clothing) is ideal. Alot of skillsets have specialized sets to increase their damage. Alchemy has cressida, magic has hebona, archery has bohemian, close combat has thames, and everything else is kinda up to you. (These are the most efficient damage wise)

I personally use an Encore Champion gamyu since its light armor and the only piece of armor that can have those 2 enchants (which are the best place holders enchant wise). However encore champion might be a bit too expensive for you, you could go with a bohemian or something in case you intend to go range eventually and put special ambush on it, or you can go with some decent light armors that can give some more prot and defense with upgrades and put something like encore ambush or something along those lines.

tl;dr would need to know wat u intend to do with your char first before i can recommend anything.

Well the archery is a no go for now since I'm really into don't ask why certain archery skills are 1 lol also I will be going Mage I do have a Karis Wiz Set for mana reduction and also have High class leather armor for light armor.

Karis is ok i guess for mage, but the mana usage reduction isnt that big of a deal honestly. Hebona will benefit you more in the long run with the firebolt dmg increase if you can get ahold of a good robe. Light armor is really all up to you, high class leather armor is fine I guess but you might want to consider a gamyu if you intend to enchant it with end game enchants at some point.

I would say the hebona set is not worth the resources and a cheap mana reduction set is more viable. The reduction in the amount of time you spend making pots along with the lesser cost outweighs the marginal firebolt bonus.

Umm, you're really only missing out on Champion and I guess Tournai. And since encore burns have the mana reduction effect already on them, it simplifies enchanting it again lol
