My antivirus just ran out and I was wondering if anybody knew any good antivirus programs that I can buy. I suck when it comes to these things so some advice would be appreciated.

I've been using Avast and Malwarebytes. Both free. So far, my computer hasn't threatened to explode.

I'd recommend both of these as well. Malwarebytes is only really necessary if you already get something, but Avast is very adept in protecting you from getting anything in the first place.
*And if it helps the decision, these two programs are what we use frequently here in my applied technology college. xD

The best antivirus is education, after that most AV systems are very similar in their ability to detect stuff, and become helpless if you get infected.

Definitely true. I honestly just use adblock when I browse now. I haven't used a single antivirus in 3 years on my PC. Never had an issue.
I recommend ad block and just download malwarebytes and do a few clean ups every now and then.

I use AVG. You may want to get something that gets rid of spyware and malware as well.

I use MSE + Malwarebytes. MSE has been my favorite over AVAST and other free software mostly because it's lightweight and non-intrusive. However the best pest protection is to use good judgement on the web and always be cautious!
