Mis-use of language and report system.

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. Recently there seems to be an issue with members abusing their right to use whatever language they please. While this is fine in certain sections regardless of how you use it (IE: bean rua), in other sections we ask that you please act as an adult when dropping your f-bombs and other crude words. It's fine to joke around and use adult language, so long as it's not excessive and present in nearly every post you make.

Additionally, over the past few weeks I have received, responded to, and wasted my time with many false reports (not accidental/misunderstanding reports but reports in which the user is "joking" about reporting someone). This is a mis-use of the report system and should not be done, and will not be tolerated. If a report is made on a user, we as moderators will respond to the report with every assumption that this is a serious issue that needs to be corrected.

Thank you to those who do properly use their language and reports, and thank you to those who will try to improve. If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding these topics or others, feel free to contact myself or anyone else on the moderation team.

I personally have no problems with these kinds of reports, however...
I can't just speak for myself, I have to keep in mind that there's other moderators handling those reports and that they might not be as amused by these.
Especially when their real-life jobs are already stressful enough, some will occasionally not see the joke in them and BOOM down goes the ****.

As mentioned, there's also an increasing amount of aggresive behaviour among the community, and we figured we'd give a warning to start with.

So yeah, be nice to eachother guys! Please?

This can be one example, if someone submits a sarcastic report, we respond to it, and suddenly the person states they were joking after we have already infracted their friend and locked a thread. At this point now we have to take twice as much time to undo the effects for absolutely nothing.

We have things to do too, and there's only so many active mods right now. I don't mind if I have to respond to every single report myself so long as they are valid reports and serve a purpose, but if someone continually waste the moderators time with false reports then the actual important stuff is going to get neglected.

Something else I forgot to mention in the mis-use of reports is that a lot of people tend to not state what is wrong with the post they are reporting. This isn't necessarily going to get you in trouble, but it's not helpful to your own cause of reporting it. Reporting someone and simply saying "dickbutt" as your reason might give us the idea that they are a dickbutt or you are, but either way it takes away from the value of the report.

And keep in mind for language, we don't mind that you use grown up words. That's fine, we're mostly all some form of adult here. However, it's when I can look at your post history and see that over 90% of your posts include swearing that it is excessive. It's a privilege to use this language, it wasn't always allowed, and I want to keep it allowed but if it's flooded everywhere and degrades the quality of the forums then why should we keep it? (keep in mind bean rua is fine, I don't care about that section in terms of cursing lol)
