Alpaca Robe and Reforges?

the alpaca robe makes you go faster, but not as fast as a lvl 20 transport speed g15 outfit. What I want to know is if you can combine a mediocre roll outfit with the robe to achieve something on par with maybe a lvl 17+ transport speed reforge.

I ask because I play a giant, and as everyone knows, giants are shafted in commerce because of the g15 outfit restriction.

From what I have been told the commerce robe offers a +20% speed boost while commercing and does not stack with the commerce reforge. So I would either aim for a high level commerce reforge on tengu or just go with the robe which is just shy of level 7.
