by plugging in a wired network into the laptop but then i do some stuff and it will then use the wifi chip stuff to trans mit a signal that an ipod could pick up ???

You mean make your computer into a hotspot? Depends if your driver in your network card/built-in wireless network receiver supports it. It can be set up relatively easy on Windows computers IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, since it uses the cmd/Run command prompt.
This was a guide I used, it should be more or less similar to many Windows OSes in process.

I can do that from my phone with the LTE/4G network. Must be possible with a recent enough laptop and wifi card and whatnot.

also how do i disable network sharing a pop up came up after making the ad hoc suggesting i enable it but now that i know the ad hoc wont work for anything how do i disable ?

Yes, ad-hoc network etc. It can be done, make sure you encrypt it properly.
But for the most part you'll find it too tedious for anything more than temporary use. Just get a proper router if you need to share between devices.

its more im at my moms and wante to use my 360 for online use and still have access to internet from my laptop
