Basically, if I put my laptop in any mode other than Power Saver, the fan starts running like crazy and it overheats. It overheats on things a computer simply should not overheat on. I can be doing nothing but watching a movie, it overheats. Single firefox window open, it overheats. Word document, overheats.
My warranty expired about a week before this started happening so I can't even call the company, they won't even talk to me without paying them $60.

You tried dusting it out? for starters just use a vacuum on the exhausts, a can of compressed air would also help.
Then if it comes to it, open up the bottom panel and dust it out.
Dust is the main cause i see for laptop over heating.

If dust is not a problem, you may want to keep your laptop at an elevation. This trick kinda sucks though.
