What happened to 60s anti-establishment movements?

Most of them stopped being hippies before causing a Ukraine or Venezuela type situation. Those that actually got into positions of power got corrupted like the rest of them.

Theygrew up. Nearly every 50-60 year old you know was probably part of it to some extent, but then they got assimilated into the system like everyone else. The same will happen to the Occupy Wall street kids of today. Anti-establishment movements are a luxury of the young and naive.

But go take a look at Ukraine, Venezuela, all those middle-eastern countries... it just took one country to do it, and now it's spreading.

There's a huge difference between legitimate revolution and the "fuck the system, man" movements we have here.

On a side note, I'd love to live in Venezuala. Gas is only 5 cents per gallon there.

The only difference is the level of consent. Anti establishment start out as a sub-culture, but as things get worse, more and more people will start to support it and it turns from a sub-culture to core-culture, and that's how revolutions start.
