With higher rank items, Silver is used almost as commonly as iron to make items.
Mythril is the one that is most useless in blacksmithing.(but not completely, some items call for them)

Gold ingots can be kept for fragment refine if you want. They are kind of useless. Mythril ingots can be used to anvils in blacksmith and heater/dragon shield? However, Mythril ingots are pretty common.
