You'd think the cops would have something better to do in Chicago.

Authority figures always love pretending they're somehow above everyone else.
It's disgusting how easy it is to get a badge these days. It's no wonder that most cops are power-hungry twats.

I know right? That was a soft cop who made the arrest and looks like the media chooses the one guy to back up their story in that neighborhood.
Let me get this straight, there are great cops out there who would die for their duty of protecting the citizens as would service men and women do overseas. Let's not generalize the police force over this bs. However, if the case sticks and the kid does get a lengthy sentence, I would question the legal system there since in the end, those are who the cops have to listen to. It's not the ones out in the streets calling the shots, it's those with Ivy League degrees that have never stepped foot in a rough neighborhood that do.

"If [the boy] had gotten away with it, who's to say what they'd do next? If it doesn't stick to them now, they'll be 16 or 17, and they'll have a gun," Fields told DNAinfo

This would probably mark the birth of a new criminal... and I don't mean when the boy threw the snowball, but when they accused him of committing a crime by labeling him a felon.
That likely will make him feel so bad and cause him troubles later in life. Especially since he's at that age.
It's probably because people who do harmless things are labeled like this, they feel they cannot live a normal life anymore, so they end up continuing and go further as criminals.

I can understand suspending him from school or something but a felony?
I hate cops

This crud disgusts me. Anyone can get a badge, which not everyone should be able to do.
I cringe at how people in positions of power view themselves as above others.
By this point, with all of the shit that cops do, it's pretty evident that a decent amount of change is needed. (For instance, not letting any half-witted moron become a cop?)
