What effects these two skills in terms of quality? Do certain days help? Do parties? Rain? What can a player do to get better stats on their items using these skills?

Also, I noticed I couldn't find any guides on either of these skills whether it be production, where to get certain materials, how to tackle certain ranks, etc. Is everyone so burnt out by the time they finish the skill that they don't want to make guides for it? xD

Their master titles are the only thing that effects their quality.

Yes.

Also the guide would just be "Do sexual favors for your entire guild so that they do nothing but harvest and bring you materials 24/7" because holy crap, those training requirements are insane.

For a comparison, Tailoring, at R9, you can finish the training with 120 successful uses of it, without even touching the smallest training requirements... which still give 0.50.

Engineering, at R9, requires 1600 uses of requirements that give 0.025 each.

High rank parties probably help from what I heard. Just like carpentry.

It all comes down to the fact there really is no strategy involved, just endless time-sink.
Where to get everything is more than obvious (and very limited as even the Seal Shop sucks for this) and there's very little you can do to make it go any faster short of having other people farming for you.
Quality is quasi-random.
Success rates are more or less fixed and everyone already understands production party concepts.
What's left to write?

Theres an ongoing argument that monday will increase quality for Engi/MC. Yes and no; purple hearts/savage wands/staves are purely random, but it seems like guns/bhafel/armors do get quality bonus on Monday.

Guidewise, starting from rank 8, try to fill 30% of gun making and brio it. What i did was finish synth+part making, guns and brio, and seal few points. I would strongly recommend using skill training seals from rank 5.

Have there been any statistical studies on this? I've noticed an increase in the overall proportion of higher stat items produced under the influence of Monday but I've by no means gathered rigorous data to support this.

I don't really have statistical studies to support but from my experience getting master title/r1 MC, I don't think 'Monday' will produce better quality on what I've mentioned before. I do see increased quality in terms of guns but I've gotten more +8s on hermits & +5s on savage wands on non-monday (when I was grinding for title)

It's still a debate going on in KR community as well
