I'm seeing a lot of colors that never should ever go together and a lot of newbies running around in flashies...
I'm so glad that for the most part flashy dyes pertaining to this event come as slow or pulsing ones.
Yeah it took me a few months of checking out fixed and flashy dyes to note that they almost all seem to have been hand-picked codes, since specific combos were showing up a hell of a lot more often than statistically probable...

So it's good to know that this is giving entirely new things!
Either a new hand-picked pool, or truly random generation...
These new dyes are not randomly generated by their colors. The flashy dyes are set for specific combos. It's just that there are so many right now, so it's hard to keep track of them. They are definitely set in stone. (Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the same exact flashy 4 times in a row.)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but dyes from synthesis may result in any color (not flashy) that's in the game. It can even result in colors that are otherwise impossible to obtain.
Anyone know if I bought a pon well on my character, could I delete it and trade it off?
Yes you can.

Those are the ones I've seen so far. They definitely look randomized in terms of what the colors are (the flashy code itself seem to be picked from a small pool of possibilities, that's the first two digits, generally 00 or FF for non-flashies, and when otherwise they determine the flash type and the flash speed).
Looking at flashy color codes and what the digits mean, it's entirely possible to end up with multiple different flashies that look the same superficially because the start and end colors may vary by only like 3/255ths or something like that. (Sort of like when you have a flashy that's barely noticeable because the start and end colors are so close to each other, except comparing the start/end of two different dyes)
The first byte determines the flashy sequence (type and speed), and if you look at my list a lot of them are exactly the same, I'm not doubting that bit. The colors are what I find so curious. I literally got four yellow-white flashies with the same sequence. (I checked this by putting them in a pet.)
I do understand what you mean, though. They picked specific colors, and it seems that they are picking random colors from the "pool" you mentioned for each flashy. However, I think all the flashies are already pre-made based on the color "pool", meaning they pretty much took every single combination possible (2~4 colors) for each flashy dye, as well as specific sequences for certain color combinations that we are seeing now. Like I said, there are so many right now that it seems like they are completely randomized.
Every dye from the well I've seen so far is a medium/slow flashy, which is determined by the first byte, and related to not the colors. For example, I am 100% sure you won't see an extreme seizure yellow-white flashy dye. This is because they already pre-made this combination to be slow.
Also, this gave me a huge headache.

I'm about to be blacklisted by half of Alexina.

Only of the paid one and you are allowed to have 3 max (of the paid). In other words you can have 1 Free and 3 Paid ones for a total of 10 dyes a day.
