With very, very, very few exceptions, flashy dyes are obnoxious, ugly, or both. This is true for some non-flashy colors as well, but flashies are definitely the most offensive.
Egh!

Flashies doesn't really bother me.
You guys do realize that when you buy PCs and games, you're basically accepting the risk of having a seizure.
Also.. that picture is more fast than the fastest flashy dye we have in game right now, basically...

My eyes aren't bothered by flashies.
The troll in me made me spend 1.5m on obnoxious flashies for the sole intent on blinding people because I like to wreak havoc on the community.

I'm glad we think alike. Some people just like to watch the world flash...

Reg dye amps are 200 k-250 k in ruairi. Also, there are too many shades of red.
I can get the subtle red for about 300-400 k ea and keep all my colors uniform.

The cloth palette doesn't actually have pure red on it. That's part of the reason people are willing to pay so much for red dyes (other than leather items).

Slow flashes acceptable.
Anything super fast is troll.

They seriously do hurt to look at. I know people who will go as far as to blacklist those wearing the fast flashies. I've only done it once because the guy was a jerk/camper who wouldn't let me turn off the PVP option I accidentally left on.
I don't mind if it's one of those extremely slow ones with colors that don't look like they were taken off the default MS Paint palette, but I wouldn't touch them myself.
I like my dyes to be pastel or desaturated colors, like slate blues and soft pinks. Speaking as a 3D artist, too-vibrant dyes make the graphics look bad like something out of the N64, and pure black loses the outfit's specular/gloss effect.
Also, it ruins the beauty of the outfit(MS paint fuchsia and yellow? Puke green? Really?), and makes the game look glitched.
The only circumstance where I have bought flashy clothing was because it was the only available one, and I would dye them right away into a fixed color.
Why is it so important to get "pure" red? I find the dark reds you can get with regular dyes are essentially red. I prefer the reed to have the slightest greyness to it, if possible, because it makes the clothing look more realistic, rather than liquid blood.

I think that's why many go for that pure red option. More or less the same with pure black if they combo said red with it.
The problem is that flashies as a whole are easily and heavily abused. A lot, if not, most people tend to have them applied onto huge areas of gear that cover a big portion of their character or even all over it for either showing off their luxury e-peen or to troll others by having their eyes drawn to the cycle of colors whether they like to or not. I really question how the people wearing the items themselves can stand all that on their own character for hours on end.
I find flashies to be used best as an enhancer to small accents on an item, and even then there's very few items I found so far that could make good use of it before it becomes potentially annoying. As of typing this post, the only thing I've ever used a flashy dye on was a fast, yet subtle gray to indigo-ish dye on the stars of a pumpkin bat umbrella to give the stars a "twinkling in the night sky" effect. As for good uses of flashies I've seen on others, I could count the number of notable ones I've came across on one hand.
For all this time it and all the complaints have existed, I'm surprised there hasn't been an option to set the visibility of flashy gear and items between all characters, only your party members, and only yourself like with what was given to music performances recently.

I dislike flashies due to my OCD issues with the visual appearance of things. Solid object shouldn't change colors without any observable purpose or if the object falls into this vague abstract area where my mind can just put it together in a way that makes sense of the flashing, like a flashy Spirit sword (when viewed with the glow effect) just looks like the power of the spirit is pulsing through the blade. The only thing I can really do to tolerate any other item is to hum the Super Mario invincibility star theme until I can get it off screen.
It's also an eyesore and makes me yell at friends undeservingly.
On the note of OCD; I WILL notice that all of your homestead plants are facing the default rotation and look way too perfect. That's right, I see your laziness!

I think flashiest are ok if they're placed in more subtle places. For example, placing them on the feather of a broad brimmed feather gay would work well.
