It would appear that certain super mods on this wonderful site have made rules but haven't detailed exactly what meets these rules.
The fun pictures thread in Bean Rua in particular is what confuses me. Apparently, that thread requires all "large" images to be put in spoiler tags. What exactly constitutes "large" images, what dimensions or size requirements must be met for it to absolutely have to be in spoiler tags.
Should these kinds of rules apply to a specific thread or other threads. There's also a couple other rules tailored to specific members as well. All these things I feel that Aishi should have had a role in helping decide instead of just making them and leaving uncertainty and ambiguity rampant in the rules.
Of course all of these issues are Bean Rua only and seem to only apply to that section.
Also, these rules should be in the official rules as well if moderators are going to be editing people's posts continually in accordance to these "guidelines" or "rules".

The thing about image sizes isn't necessarily a rule, it's more like a temporary warning (no infractions involved) to ask people to try to reduce their posts as much as they can, until....[...something I'll keep to myself for now].
As for what qualifies as too big, I was hoping that people would be able to judge this for themselves.
I couldn't really put a maximum amount of pixels because nobody is gonna spend their time measuring all those.
I couldn't speak of page heights or amount of scrolls on a mouse because those are different for everyone.
As for rules tailored towards specific members, those were only put in place to keep complaints from -other- members to a minimum.
At least until a certain someone...[insert ANOTHER thing I'm not ballsy enough to say].`
There haven't been that many (continuous) edits by moderators, though.

You say that now, but how many times are you or some other mod going to edit mine and other people's posts when we quote those long images?
Which is the point I'm trying to get. I feel like I did something wrong when a moderator comes along and edits my posts even though there is no official rule on it.

The problem right now then, is that no moderators can actually make -official- rules, so you're gonna have to take this to Ashi, I'm afraid.

It's common forum etiquette to remove the img tags when you quote a post with images. Specially when they are big.

Hmm...I apparently don't use forums a lot as that's news to me :/ Most people in the fun pictures thread don't really follow this common forum etiquette then. I shall try and keep it in mind.

Most of the problem is just when people repeatedly quote an image that's pages long, and so you have 4+ posts on a page all with that image, and it abhorrently hogs precious space. You don't even need to remove the [img] tags most of the time, it's just that a lot of people don't put their essay images in [spoiler] tags.

Can it be proper etiquette to do the same for embedded videos?
Especially quoting them.

I don't remember making a large images rule. Spoiler tags don't save any data for mobile browsers either. It is common forum etiquette to not make a giant chain of images, especially if you're quoting someone, but I'll have to deal with the specifics later when I'm back to working with nation completely.

Of course you don't, but you need something to keep ya busy, aight?
(And some reassurance for the others that you're still around)
