So, about the Hero cards.. I don't know much about them but are they really worth it? I wanna make a new character to play with when I'm bored of my main but are those cards worth it or is it better to start with a regular character card instead? Starting at a high level with skills ranked to some decent ranks would be nice but I'm thinking training things like windmill would be a little hard since all these skills ranked means you start your character with a high cp, right? or do you get to decide what skills you wanna start with higher ranks? Thanks in advance~ C:

I find it worth it, u get 800 extra ap to mess around with if u buy the elite version. The cp isnt a big deal since its not really that high, and even if it is its not difficult to get ahold of a bit of -cp gear or to just deal with it using sm difficulties. I started an elite hero on ruairi and I've made progress that never would have been possible starting with a new char without that 800 ap. I would say it is worth it over the normal ones.

Adding in my own experience/knowledge, some players use Ace cards to simply obtain the Hero Skills and for the double training experience for the 3 respective skillsets.
As with what Nui said, the extra AP (if applicable) is a big help, and even if you simply get the Ace card benefits (no AP, just the ability to choose a Hero Talent), it's not like you're forced to choose that route--you can go to other talents with your next rebirth.
Finally, even players like me who have 2400 CP have no trouble finding Boss monsters in Other Alchemists Adv. I'm sure you'll be fine as well.
The only con I would see in Hero cards (the ones that cost a boatload and actually give you AP after character creation) is that it's unnecessary. Rebirth is free every 3 weeks, so unless you're a hardcore player (AP-whore), you're probably not going to be in a rush for AP collection.
Training the skills isn't really that hard either, and while I might be wrong in my memory, the Hero cards are not worth the $20.

CP isn't nearly the problem now as it used to be. There's -CP gear coming out of gachas, and shadow mission difficulties mean CP doesn't become an issue unless you're like 3K CP and for some reason still have no -CP gear, which is fixed by getting -CP gear.
EDIT: Right now, every server has a few Marble (-500 CP) Brigandines (heavy armor), some 450k and below (some servers at 300K).

If you want to build a character off the pre-ranked skills then look for the best possible cards that support it.
If you want to try and go for melee on a new char, then I suggest getting a Diva Hero or Elite Hero because of the pre-ranked bard and puppetry skills.
Also, does anyone know the starting stats for Hero and Elite Heroes?

If you're capable of getting the Elite cards.. the $20 is up to your discretion, but on my end I'd say they're completely worth it. I'm forgetting the exact math I did before, but you're paying like $20 for an instant character with all the ranks and AP, whereas if you did it naturally it'd be (I think it was) something like $160 that would take around half a year to reach -with- weekly rebirths. I certainly like 'em for that. xD
I'll support that you don't have to stick to anything and can do whatever, also. I made a Soul Star primarily for the AP (and the base stats were a decent bit of help as well), and I've turned it fully into an archer. It provides a boost to whatever you want to do, honestly. After a couple rebirths(literally two) and some limited play time.. it's a wise archer already. xD
So the money is probably your biggest issue, because the characters can either be a boost into what they're made for, but they can be versatile at the same time. I'd personally recommend 'em myself. x3

Personally I just use regular cards for new characters, because I like to have as little base CP as possible for windmill, even if it's not as hard as before. I like to get it all done on zombies and easy stuff like that. >_<
Plus I enjoy starting from scratch since part of the fun is raising every skill with manual effort. The windmill they give you is only rA, I think, which is super easy to get to on a brand new character using only foxes.
But in the end, it is up to you. If you don't like to rank skills from novice, or you would rather have more starting AP, and don't mind the higher CP, then the card is probably for you.

The CP isn't even that high. I think when I made my human Soul Star, the CP was around 800. With -CP gear and WM pots, windmill isn't the struggle it used to be. It hasn't been for a long time.
As for the card as a whole, I definitely think it's worth it. I'm using one as a main right now, and that little push is a huge help.

It's simple math. You would be absolutely insane not to use the $20 card to start a new character. How many rebirths would you have to go through to get 800 AP yourself? With a new character and weekly rebirths, probably at least 10 weeks, and if you free rebirth that is 30 weeks. How much would that cost you to rebirth that many times? At least around $80.
You start off with 800 AP and a LOT of AP invested in skills already. You have a ton of quests that reward AP from the pre-ranked skills. You can throw the 800 AP towards whatever skills you might want like melee, ranged, etc. Plus, you get the Hero accessory which gives you bonus training in a number of areas; it's the same as having an EXP reforge for a skill. This item can be used on your other characters too. The CP on a fresh character with one of these cards is in the 5-600 range, so you can EASILY train at zombies or wherever for windmill.
The Elite card is worth it.

Thank you all for helping me decide C:
I decided to wait until I could get those $20 and finally a couple days ago I got that Elite Hero Card and I really like it, for windmill training that I was so concerned about I got one of those Abysmal Cooking Pots from gacha and was really easy to get r1 even without the x2 from combat talent since I'm currently on Soul Star talent. Now I'll start working on refining, maybe I should buy some of those training pots to rank it faster

Been thinking about making a fresh elf character and I think I'll probably opt for this too, having read all this.
One question,
"Plus, you get the Hero accessory which gives you bonus training in a number of areas; it's the same as having an EXP reforge for a skill. This item can be used on your other characters too."
what is this exactly?

You'll get more training points towards the skill you're ranking. The max requirements won't change however to my understanding. 5/10 will turn into 7.5/10 while the badge is equipped. It also works in conjunction with other training bonuses such as your talent/events/etc, so it's useful when you have one or more of those going for you. That initial 1.5x boost will suddenly turn into 3x training if youre in a relevant talent. And they are bank tradable among the characters within the account.
Edit: I snipped all that here. I think this is easier

Another thing I forgot to mention is that you get a perfect skill reset capsule, which you can use to unrank a heavy pre-ranked AP skill your hero might come with to get even more bonus starting AP. I chose Healing, for example, when I made my Starlet card character.
