Quote from Space Pirate Nithiel;1205797:
You forgot the part about how some people just bully because they are dicks and don't have a reason.
Also not everyone reacts to bullying like that. Many people who get bullied ignore it and go on to lead successful lives without ever being depressed or cutting.
Telling someone accomplishes nothing. If you tell a teacher or "trusted adult" the worst the bully will get is a slap on the wrist, maybe a detention and then they will be right back to harassing you, perhaps even worse than before because you opened your mouth. The only way to get rid of a bully is to take care of it yourself of ignore it until they get bored.
As far as cyber bullying goes

Source: Was bullied from 1st grade til college
My biggest problem with people telling people to turn off their PCs to stop cyberbullying is
A) it solves future cyber-bullying but it doesn't change what you've already seen, heard, and experienced.
A lot of people say cyber-bullying isn't really because you can just turn off your PC, but that's like saying verbal bullying doesn't exist because you can just cover your ears
B) we live in an age where basically everything is revolved already the internet and social media, it seems really unfair for someone to be pushed off of their blogs, Facebook, Twitter, ect because they can't stop being dicks for five seconds
Social media has basically made it's self into the new go-to source for contacting friends and family
C) it is not uncommon for cyber-bullying to extend off of the internet
Do you remember jesse something who had the "I called the cyber police, you dun goofd" dad?
People were sending her stuff in the mail and harassing the family off of the internet with the goal being to make her kill herself
I don't care what dumb shit you do no one deserves that, ever
A lot of cyber bullying is from classmates and people they know personally, it's unrealistic and unfair to expect change by simply turning of the computer
