I am what you can call a newbie to mabi. I play every chance I get but to me this game is pretty tough. None of my characters are over level 300 and I was barely able to finish G1 on one of my characters but that took a long time. I realized this game is not only hard but it tends to cater to players with tenure more than attract new comers like me. Did any of you guys have the same problem as I have now?

Mabinogi is a million times easier for new players now than it was before.
I'm curious as to why you are/were having such a hard time. Only thing I can think of is that you're spreading your AP across several different skillsets and not mastering one at a time.

I beat G1 with a level 100 character and a party of people who have never rebirthed back when rebirthing wasn't free. And back then the game was significantly more difficult.
The game caters to players who learn the system correctly. You're most likely doing something horribly wrong.

Another would be not focusing on one character. Or spamming attacks without regard to the rock paper scissors stuff, which can work in other games, but not in Mabi (at least not at low level melee lolol)
But welcome to the forum!
PS. Consider rewording the title!

Well, to be fair, Mabinogi streamlined beginner quests (and butchered G2's dialogue) to the point that it's a bit hard for brand-new players to understand all the concepts, even if they read all the dialogue, without needing a more experienced player to explain to them simple mechanics. I've run into many newbies that have this problem, and a lot of my friends that I've tried to get into Mabinogi were simply too confused when they first encountered Mabi.
Just read up on some of the guides the forums and the wiki have to better understand things like AP distribution and combat tactics and you should be okay.
Also, welcome to Mabinogi! And the forums.
If I had a character on Mari, I'd help you out, but. > <

hmmm back then........mabinogi was hard e .e. I skipped g1 and had to do g2 and was focusing on melee....my only tactic of winning was to stripe and only bring weapon xD after dying like 100+ plus time and reaching -exp i would give up.

Before the Generations were renewed (G1 G2 G3) it used to be way harder. Before the Moon Gate Update aswell.

I think it's less of the content is hard and more of not understanding how the game works as a newcomer..

I have only been playing for almost a year now so I understand the trail of thought.
I know that things have gotten more easy since I have been told this by people before. I did G1, G2 and G3 when all those moongates were not there yet, but apart from it I never though them to be too hard. Just a lot of walking around. I never played Mabi before the renewal but when I hear from friends who have done it, then it seems much harder back in the day.
The only thing I noticed, is that it is hard to solo certain things, but if you got friends to help out it's not too hard and even lots of fun. I guess I was lucky for having higher level friends. But if you are stuck in a final, or need help, if you ask around or advertise for help on for example G1 Final, there is always players that offer help. C: Good way to make friends too.
I do still think that comparison to other MMORPG, Mabinogi is still more challenging for new players though. Other MMORPG's require no use of the brain when you fight, it's just button bashing the skills, but in Mabi you have to use strategies, use the right skills at the right moment.
I as a newbie got pwned several times because I failed to do that right. So I get where you are coming from. I however had older players help me out and show me the ropes, and after a year of playing I have accumulated enough experience on how to do combat right. I have an alt whose a level 14. I managed to kill an ancient red bear without dying on it, because I knew what to do. That's when I knew that being good at this game is mainly knowing how to play it.
Apart from the combat system, there is the stamina a newer player loses quickly. A tip: learn enduring melody, play it in between rooms in a dungeon to keep the stamina up.
Keeping HP up, can be hard, because you get wounded. Not much other MMOs have this either. For newer players bandages are pretty expensive.
If you have trouble tackling things, ask around for help/advice, look up strategies on how to kill bosses/enemies you can not seem to defeat. You can defeat them! Just gotta know how. In the G3 final dungeon for example, you can easily kill the Lycanthropes in the rooms with just using Windmill. If you don't, they are near impossible to defeat. You can avoid the fire from the boss Dragon by making a campfire or barrier spikes and standing behind it as it spits fire. Etc etc. There are plenty of guides in the Wiki and strategies posted if you search for them, even videos to show you how to do go about doing things if you have trouble with it.
Good luck!

The objective of the combat in Mabinogi for most of the G1~G3 content is to be able to clear it without losing much hp at all.
Mabinogi has always put far more emphasis on counterplays over levels, meaning someone who knew what they were doing could actually clear the entire mainstream content with a fairly low level character.
Basically, stop getting hit. It's possible, especially with all the extra tools you have in the game now. Not popular anymore, but there used to be 1 hp builds, where players would actually decrease their own max hp pool down to 1. There were some decent benefits to this, and the assumption was that you could play most of the game without taking any damage. Again, this is an outdated example, but then so are the chapter 1 generation quests.

This title is perfect.
Anyway, i started mabi 3 months ago, and it was hard for me, but I spent more time on the wiki and on the forums learning about the game than actually playing the game and as a result things got easier, things always do.

I wouldn't say the game is hard, but it is more along the lines of unforgiving.
As Ashikoki said, try not to get it. Learn the Rock/Paper/Scissors formula of all attacks. Perfect it. Predict. Play it as safe as possible. Since you are on Mari server, feel free to add me if you need a helping hand. My IGN is the same as my forum name. :P
