Ok, 2 days later, mabi has finally decided to install, now when I try to run the game, I get to the screen which says "Start Mabinogi" and "Exit".
Click start, suddenly "Can not connect to crackshield, retry?"
I DON'T HAVE ANY BLOODY MODS INSTALLED
What do?
Also get error code 0x00000001

Try installing via Steam. I personally never liked installing from Nexon for reasons such as that. Steam never gives me problems.

I tried installing through nexon which didn't work and is the subject of another of my threads in this section, but it is currently installed through steam, fresh install yet it still thinks I have mods installed.

What version of windows are you running? Are Drivers up to date? Do you have service packs?
I'm just brainstorming possibilities :P

Did you delete your entire Mabinogi folder before you reinstalled?

Windows 7 64 home premium, all my drivers are up to date, I'm not sure if that is relevant though, seeing as it's saying it cant connect to crackshield, which is the modded version of hackshield

Yes I did, but I had my steam backed up from before I installed mods, so I copied that to my steam folder once the download had started, but steam downloaded over that

You didn't revert your .dll files properly. There should be a ijl15.dat file (that's the backup one), rename that to ijl5.dll. If you have dinput8.dll delete that too.

I'm pretty sure you didn't remove the mabinogi folder which you installed mods into if a crackshield notice pops up. Did you delete the one in the nexon folder?

There were no .dat files, this was a clean install

I deleted all my mabinogi/nexon folders, this is a clean install and I have no clue why it's still asking for crackshield

No you didn't. No files equals no notice. Where did you install your mods? Mabinogi doesn't always run from the folder the exe is located in.

I installed the mods into the Mabinogi Steam folder, when I uninstalled mabi, I did "delete local content" and reinstalled mabi, if that makes any difference

Do this then. Redownload abyss and just replace the ijl15.dll in the mabi steam folder with with ijl15.bak in abyss. If there's no other copies of mabi on your computer, then something went wrong with your uninstall. I have no idea how steam works.

This worked, thank you
