So apparently I haven't played Mabinogi for about 3-4 years. Decided to comeb ack to it because why not but it seems like everything has changed. There are a lot of skills out there now and I'm not quite sure where to start...
My main skills are Rank 1 Windmill, Smash, Combat Mastery, Range Attack, Refine ... Not sure what the other stuff is at the moment as the server is down. Does anyone have any advice from a returning player? I'm interested in leveling up my archery/sword combat.... Including all the necessary life skills that go with them. What should I start with? And what can I do for money this time around?" I'm around 700 in level. Pretty well rounded. I know I want to finally get into trading and selling things also...
Quick Edit: Are there any guides out there that can get me back up to speed?

Well you should focus on one talent at the moment and work on the others later , and it's best to finish windmill and those important life skills first before it's too late. Also what race are you? But this is only my opinion, i'm sure the other more experienced player on here will give you better advice. For money just spam missions and dailies like saga.

Oh wow, after that long of a break you're definitely going to be overwhelmed with the amount of new content. As far as spending your AP, I'd suggest filling out the trees you're currently working on, while dabbling a little bit with the new skills that look most interesting to you. It is now much easier to acquire AP than it was when you last played, so you won't notice spending a little bit here and there. In the meantime, you'll find yourself slowly becoming familiar with everything, skill-wise. There's only so much you can learn from just seeing people do stuff.
Like RegisAreus suggested, you should definitely do your "dailies." Check under the Normal tab in your quest log for a few; this is one of the ways to get more AP. Also, on the bottom-right corner by the item mall's icon is where you can start doing the Saga content. There are 10 episodes, and the rewards are outstanding. If you need some in-game help, add me. I'm on the same server as you. :D

Glad to see I came in with about 58AP so I should have quite a bit to spend...Looks like premium cards and a whole bunch of other stuff no longer exist...It's going to take a bit to readjust. Right I believe I was working on Melee/Range skills trying to boost dex and str as much as possible after I had finished Refine. Refine is the only life skill I maxed out so I guess I need to do more....Someone suggested for me to do Carpentry or Weaving? Is there anything else I should look at to boost my stats more? It looks like these things are resource heavy also. Farming these resources won't make me too broke will it? :|
Thank you Regis for the guides. I do have Rank 1 Windmill. And I am human. :)

These guides aren't bad, but they are old.
They have outdated gear guides, and in the guides section, there are guides about gears not listed under Ninjam's list, and they aren't outdated.

Welcome back!
If i were you, i would start training other Warrior Skills. But training Archery at the same time aswell.
You might want to choose the Warrior Talent for now, and if you get Higher Ranks at Archery you could switch to Archer Talent.
Good Luck!

Hmmmm he didn't ask about gears, I guess it was sort of vague when it under the "advice for returning player" so I guess getting better gear is technically an advice.
