Hi everyone,
So I've returned from my hiatus for the time being and seeing that I haven't been around since last summer (so about a year), I've missed out on a lot of content. Now, I'm sure I can spend a few hours going through the wiki, but I prefer going to my friends at Mabination for help!
What constitutes an endgame giant? Please be specific on the following points: primary & secondary weapon set, equipment, title, and Hero Talent.
Sincerely,
Regalius
EDIT1: I want to be completely geared towards damage output, with secondary emphasis on tank-ability.
EDIT2: It would be great to get Ruairi price estimates for the weapons+equipment!

If you want to do as much damage as possible in all kinds of damage, everyone's going to tell you to go for an encore champion gamyu wiz robe. Though, to me, if you're a giant that's mostly doing melee combat, then theres no better choice than the thames set. That smash damage boost is insane when coupled with our naturally high smash damage and two handed weapon boost. Off the top of my head, the best enchant for the armor would be conceptual champion, but I could be wrong.
As for weapons, this depends. If I'm in a boss raid, then I like to use a two-handed sword like a highlander claymore or black dragon knight's giant sword. Why not lances? Because you can use defense with your vales shield and survive all raid boss attacks. If we're talking every day missions like elites, then lances. Endgame is subjective, but the absolute best would be a secret penetrating languhirhsdfadsfasdfa bone breaker. I don't mention cartel because even though it'd add more damage and pierce level, i don't think lvl 10 pierce gets calculated, nor do I think the super high price justifies the small increase in damage. But if you wanna be more practical, then knight/demonic lance will do you fine.
Second slot? That's up to you, I guess. I like to carry a lance/guard cylinder on one slot and a HLC+vales shield in the other slot, so I can defend and take ones and do as much damage as possible at the same time. This is when I'm with my guild doing peaca abyss/int or boss raids, otherwise I roll with lances/cylinder on one slot and control bars on the other for puppets. Yes, this is even with my thames armor on, but I don't feel like my puppet damage is lacking in elites enough for me to care by removing heavy armor. things still die pretty fast without taking much damage, if any at all.

Well you'll need to use a Lance, Cap STR
Languhiris Bone-Breaker , I believe Cartel Penetrating are the top lance enchants along with ele 6 reforge
*Also needs max roll w/ r6
3/3 Thames set with enchants that I'm not nearly educated enough on to give you.

I wouldn't say a thames set with both assault slash and smash boost is necessary, just the smash part. adding 30% ontop of 200% for your assault slash isn't as cool or worthwhile as adding 108% ontop of your 720% smash damage.

Steel Needle Difficult (r4) Thames guantlets
Oblivion Tournai Thames helm
Solo Viscount Thames Boots
Conceptual Champion Thames plate armor
2x str 10 Oblivion Earthquakes Purple Hearts OR 2x Oblivion Avenger (Fierce if you can find) Accessories
R6 elemental 6 Secret Penetrating Languhiris Bone-Breaker with high roll str on artisan
R1 Cooking pot with level 15+ max damage reforge
Thames plate armor is 10/10
Make sure to have at least 800+ str but would recommend at least 900 for "end game"
This is the enchant and gear setup I would recommend for an end game giant that goes for damage.

I hear puppetry dishes out higher damage? Even if it doesn't, does it make for a good secondary weapon set? If so, what would the new equipment set look like?

*Lance Only set-up (Better be Thames)
Obliv Tournai Helm
Conceptual/Stabbing (If you can get it from Belvast Hostage Rescue, which I doubt) Champion Armor
Steel Needle r4 Difficult Gauntlets
Running Symbolic Boots
Pure already mentioned the accessories
Oblivion Alteration Cooking pot with level 15+ max reforge (Recommended to enchant the new 35 dur gacha ones)
Puppetry is great, but if you care about getting "good" damage, you'll want to enchant light armor (probably Gamyu) to get rid of the -10% dex penalty. That in itself is too much work, so I'm going for a Lance/gunner hybrid.

pretty much the same, but of the thames armor, you'd replace it with encore champion gamyu, and you replace all the thames pieces with royal knight pieces, for the extra def/prot since you did say tankiness is something you'd like on the side.

If he really wants tankiness, he could just put defense on his skill bar and put just a Vales shield in his secondary weapon slot.

Welcome back. Maybe you don't know this but defending with a Vales Shield makes every attack do 1 damage to you whether or not it activates. So as long as Defense is loaded and it's not activated or is activated, you will receive only 1 damage so that's an incentive to use Two Handed Swords instead of Lances.
But then again true giants must use Lances or else they will be casual like Bl******ter

End game giants. I mean, if you're end game, you want to have every skill ranked, right? That seems pretty straight forward.
That being said, do what you want. Ideally, you'd want a functional Thames set with enchants people already mentioned, since Giants don't lose much dex from it, and they actually gain more than lose from it. Your primary weapon would be secret penetrating bonebreaker with max damage cooking pot. Your secondary can be anything, though I'd think puppetry or carrying a fire wand would be the better options.

Wait wait, I can't equip a lance with a Vales? If not, the wiki needs to be updated.

You can equip a lance with a Vales shield, but you can't use defense with a lance. What I like to do is have the "switch weapon slot when using skill" option on with just a Vales shield in my secondary slot. My typical set up for MA spam is Lance + Cooking pot in slot 1 and Vales shield + Cylinder in slot 2.
