Just trying to figure out if I should change my path or not. Currently I have a Black Masamune as a ego. I'm trying to find out ...as a Human should I use an Ego two handed sword or switch to a one handed? if I do switch to a one handed I'd like some suggestions on what weapons to use, though I'm partial to things that look like a one handed katana... Or should I keep my two handed? Seems like two handed in general doesn't do much damage.

In general, Spirit Weapons are outclassed by weapons that can be R upgraded; so if you're looking for DPS, you should stay away from Spirit Weapons.
I'd recommend only egoing whatever you find aesthetically appealing.

In that case, as a human is it better to go for dual sword or 2 handed? Thanks btw

That depends on your playstyle really. The only real good egos right now are firewands I think. If you like using dual swords, than use them. The 2hander will get good smash damage eventually though

2 handed swords will outdamage dual sword usually because of reforges.

Looks like I need to get down and dirty with the two hands. I actually like them more anyways... Can someone point me in the right direction to start building one?

Buy a r1 pre-reforged HLC from gacha and call it a day. That's all I can tell you. : )

Not sure what that is. I assume....Highlander Claymore? But what about the R1? How should I find that? How can I obtain it?

They came from a gacha and were really common. You should be able to buy one/a few from other players pretty easily.

Alright. I did end up getting an R1 HLC. Should I just level it up and upgrade it now?

Enchant first with Lich (r7) Crocodile (r7)
Thief [any rA] -> Deadly/Raven [any r9] -> Counter/Intricate/Prophetic [any r8] -> Crocodile
or Stamp [r5; destroy the weapon if it fails] -> Crocodile
follow by
Lich - enchant regardless
Aim for max dmg upgrade; path 295 for the no nx user who doesnt want to roll for artisan or 315 path for those that want to spam nx ...
Then special upgrade [R type]!! risk that roll and aim for r6! ;D
Lastly spam reforge until elemental 5/6

Or simply, just get a lance and upgrade and reforge it.
As for egos, fire wand is the only that's currently worth it.

If you want to get the most out of a ego. For example melee? Choose a HLC (preferably with Rank 1 Reforgeable that came from gachapon) Or a Firewand for Wands etc. Alot of people don't like the idea of wasting time feeding a spirit weapon. That and Lances / R Upgrades are pretty incredible. But Spirit Weapons are great too, just some people cant use some little work and imagination.

Spirit weapons are great, but I'm not gonna say they're better than lances at the moment. If you're considering the efficiency, lance is clearly the winner here, as you can get a total end game lance for around 30 mil, while it'd take around 4 times the amount to get a true end game stat spirit weapon, and this doesn't include reforges (unless you're using fire wand, which would only require you to get enough social level to get cc4).
