Playing instrument/song scroll success rate mechanics?

Musical knowledge is what determines the difficulty of the scroll, not your composing rank.

Higher-difficulty scrolls are harder to play, but also give a higher chance for the epic/awesome/hyper/great/kawaii success with the special animation.

If you just want successes, try playing scrolls that are around your playing rank.

Or just default music, which scales around your playing/skill rank.
