Froglord of DESTINY!!! wrote on 2014-04-07 02:29
After my sister helped me find the job I currently have right now, I've found out that there is no such thing as privacy in the workplace at all. One of the supervisors has their own little clique where they gossip, and spread rumors about other workers, and then they phone up other acquaintances, and tell them as well.
I work my ass off, I do my supervisor's job, and my job at the same time, trying to keep things in order. Then the next morning the spread of false information from certain people somehow relays itself to my bipolar sister who then tells everyone in my family, who then get the wrong idea and dissect me, and in turn call me lazy.
So now that I've been made aware of the huge microscope over my head, I'm looking for a second job, because somewhere down the line, someone's gonna lie and get me fired because the management team has their own gossip circle.

Sounds like somebody needs to have a talk with their manager. Gotta gather evidence first, though. If it doesn't work, issue a formal complaint with evidence and send it to your manager's higher-ups.

Hate that kind of office politics. It never ends well for anyone involved, but usually the new guy gets shafted first.
I'd just as soon find somewhere else. While raising a fuss about it probably is the right thing to do, it will also get you fired. That kind of management can't stand it when you go over their heads, and will conspire to eliminate you if you do. Best to just not bother- after a while they'll have to explain to their own bosses why employee turnover is so high.
