Quote from Space Pirate Nithiel;1215078:
I kill every spider I see, because around here we have a spider that with one bite can cause your flesh to necrotize, rotting and falling off the bone in gooey chunks of man meat.
Of course like everything that can kill you, the only identifying mark is so small it would have to be dead or within biting range of your eyeball for you to be able to see it.
So I just kill them all to be safe.
You mean a member of the recluse family ? Because there's only two dangerous spiders in the US out of 40,000
Both the widow family and the recluses are rarely ever seen, and almost never seen indoors. They prefer to make their homes outside around trees, old wood, and garbage cans
Usually out of plain site
Most spiders, even the dangerous ones don't bite unprovoked, most are scared of people
Considering the cats you have around, they probably produce a lot of waste which attracts a lot of insects, whether you notice them or not
Some of which, can carry nasty diseases and that will be easily spread when they come in contact with your food
Spiders help keep unwanted insect populations down. They're actually really scared of people and usually only come close to us by accident
In fact the whole "eat 8 spiders a year in your sleep" is total nonsense
If you want any bugs around, you'll want spiders
Spiders are really misunderstood
