Could a Elf be a good fighter or should fighters be left for humans and giants? Im thinking of making an Elf fighter but idk if it would be a good idea.

Fighter can be a lot of fun and synergizes well with other skill sets, especially melee, but elves receive less will than the other races by a small margin. Some people will also say that fighter is best used as a support skill set since it can't practically deal with multi aggro. Fighter damage increases rather quickly as you rank skills but since there isn't a lot of will in the game it starts to level off faster than, say, range.
Elf fighters can certainly be powerful - I would suggest looking into a skillset that will handle multiaggro alongside it... perhaps alchemy, since it's not stat based, and probably lullaby.

Elves get -20% damage from fighter compared to giants but we run fast and shit, it's up to you really but I think fighters lame so I say NO. Also the above poster alchemy is stat based (hp/mp/stam). I recommend going archer if you're elf or else it's not even worth it.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but whenever I try charging strike (from afar), my elf doesn't end up right in front of the target that I'm trying to kill, which forces to me to walk a few steps before I can follow up with chain 2 skill (The target has time to react). This doesn't happen on my human.
Just like what others have posted, I would say starting off with archery is a better choice if you're going to start an elf. It's somewhat difficult to handle several mobs at once with fighter unless you have a lot of AOE pets.

What makes a human ranger and an Elf ranger so different?

Elves can spam Magnum shot, which humans can't do due to cooldown.
Elves also fire 2 arrows, as oppose to 1, each having the critical hit chances calculated independently.
Elves also have mirage missile and Final Shot.
The run speed is nice as well.
EDIT: Humans have Arrow Revolver, but I don't see many people using it these days. (It's similar to a CC+4 Ice Wand)
From the Wiki
http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Elf_Ranged_Attack
Unlike the human version, Elves can run with the skill active, regardless of whether they are using a Bow or Crossbow.
Elves may aim while running.
Elves may also aim while on a mount. However, the mount must be standing still in order to load or fire.
Elves cannot use Ranged Attack while on a mount that is capable of Flight with the exception of Dragons, Pegasi and the Crystal Deer.
Ranged Weapon speed affects how quickly the user may fire and reload a normal ranged attack.
Elves shoot 2 Arrows/Bolts simultaneously. They will either both hit or both miss.
Elves use the same animation as humans for aiming and shooting. This causes the impact of the second arrow to be slightly behind the first.

Capped Will (not including GM)
Humans- 470
Elves- 436
Giants- 485
Humans- 30% bonus
Elves- 20% bonus
Giants - 40% bonus
Fighters on elves are very suitable for secondary but not for primary (elves already have mage/archer advantage).

To add to this...
Elves can use acceleraim if they're mounted and when combined with either an effective range reforge or ranged attack aiming speed, this is 100% accuracy if you perfect it.
Elves can desummon the mount if the initial crash shot misses which provides a window to use a secondary without the use of AOE pets. Sure you can lullaby or whatever but for the early-mid game, this technique is useful before broken-ass bard stuff is ranked.
Magnum shot can be spammed but this requires ice dragons/frozen blast for the ability's true potential. Pinning enemies against a wall works too albeit with less effectiveness since the third knock-back causes bounce up.
The ability to HIDE is also ridiculously useful (specifically in gathering materials in Hillwen). Though perhaps it doesn't have so much of a pronounced use in ranged combat other than master lich/Duke boss rooms.

Is there any other skillset that makes elf worth it?
-
wilson10000 wrote on 2014-04-21 02:48
Elves have the fastest ground movement. They also have the ability to hide as others have mentioned.
Imo elves should use skill sets that the other two races don't have an advantage over elves like magic, ranged, puppets, gunner and alchemy. Elves shouldn't rely as much on melee compared to humans and giants.

To keep you up to speed: Alchemy gets damage boosts by hp/mp/sp, as SlurpTASTY said.
Quote from Kelvas;1216082:
Final Shot.
Which sucks and no one uses anymore.
OP: Elf fighter is only slightly weaker than human or giant, but don't ever pass it up. Mid-game (rank 1 on all fighter skills, champion/demon knuckle with full upgrades but no special, no reforges) damage reaches thousands.

Elf-fighter is the closest thing you'll get to "melee elf", if not for puppets.
You'll still fall behind, but fighter itself will pull out decent damage. With the right set up and what not, elf fighters could still drop kick over 500k (with ss + combo card + overture, of course).

Other than range, I would say magic, which is my personal favorite skill set. If you choose to do magic, it's imperative that you start off by selecting the hero path of Merlin. By doing this, you will obtain skills such as magic shields, fusion bolt, snap cast, and potion making. You will probably be spamming bolts until you finish collecting pages to one of the three intermediate magic spells, Thunder, Fireball or Ice Spear.
As an elf, Ice Spear has a reduced mana cost.
You can set yourself up for Ice Spear + Blaze, which is amazing if done correctly. The run speed makes this combo easier. Do note that certain ice spear/exploration journal pages cost a fortune to buy. Also note that magic weapons are expensive to repair (with the exception of the beginner's wand), and that you'll need mana pots. (Or you can just buy a hero card or elite card if your have an account with a total level over 1k or 2k.)
At times, I wish I was an elf since I only do magic. :/
Humans are too slow! :(

Racial differences are moot if stat potions from the last Christmas event become an ongoing thing.

You almost had a good post there, keep trying!
In all seriousness, the decision of playing a certain race should literally come down to whether or not you enjoy said benefits of a given race. If you're rebirthing weekly via hero cards, a secondary character can very easily be supported on the side without any serious development penalty imposed on your main character. As a very respectable player pointed out, our current meta allows for any race to tackle endgame content effectively - it's just a matter of how you go about doing so.
